Possible dead oil pump?

Hey guys, I just recently purchased a rt4wd for 400 bucks. I drove it about 350 miles plus a little around town driving and everything thing seemed to have been running fine. I just recently was getting back from a small 90 mile trip and about 3 blocks from my house I stopped at an intersection and the engine shut off. I thought at first it was the alternator but then the oil light and the battery light came on. I tried to crank it over and it would turn but wouldn't start. I pushed the car over to the side of the road and checked the oil. The entire dipstick was coated leading me to believe the oil pump crapped out and possible blew oil out of the tube. Once I cleaned the stick and added some oil, it was about a quart and a half low even though I had topped it off before the trip. What do you guys think this would be? Thanks

Ps: the battery is fully charged and it still won't light.
