Holes to fill in 91 wagon
Barqs91
Band Wagon
Hi, just found this forum - I'd heard about it from friends but I'm old and slow to embrace the new world of social media.
Found a local 91 wagon on craigslist advertised w low compression, 319,000 on the odo. It has power steering, a decent body, good paperwork back to 2005. Bought it, against my wife's wishes I might add.
A cold compression test with an old battery & a sears compression tester
#1 - 160 psi
#2 - o - 5 psi (5 psi w 2 tblspn oli in cyl)
#3 - 165 psi
#4 - 170 psi
Pulled the head and found a burnt exhaust valve in #2 cyl
Seeing that it has 319,000 on the odo and an auto trans that has a lot of powdered metal on the drain plug... Pulled the block, trans & shifter.
Now to fill the holes; it needs new cvs/axles, ball joints, tie rods, bushings, engine & manual trans, clutch pedal, cable, ecu, wiring....
Want to try a hf trans, intake maniflod & ecu on a 16v mpfi head to see what happens
Shouldn't take more than 15 minutes, as all projects do... then my wife gets her basement back
Will try to add pics once I figure out how to do so - have to get my 8 year old nephew to show me how or his 6 year old sister...
Looking forward to continuing the honda wagon family tradition
