Car seems "peppier" with 15" rim's

I was gifted a set of 15" Integra LS mesh rims. Put them on my RT4WD today, and the car seems peppier. I had some 16" inch rims on prior, and it seemed like the car was more sluggish. Any similar thoughts?

  • Wheel weight makes a hell of a difference. Weigh em see what the difference is. Big rims just for looks can definitely kill "pep"

Especially in drag racing where it can suck tenths of seconds up.
  • Also rolling diameter makes a difference. Always try to stay close to the original rolling diameter ie. 175/70/13, 185/60/14, 185/50/15, 185/40/16.
  • I replaced my stock steelies and tire (175/80-13?) with some LS mesh and 185/65-15.
    Tires are too tall.
Car is a slug and mileage dropped from mid/hi 30s to mid/low 30s.

But it looks tons better so I'm OK with it.

I'll likely put some 195/50-15s on it when these are done.
