(a6)crank pulley question?

well i have a 91 rt4wd with the stock d16a6. well the crank pulley fell of on the freeway coming home from work one night. i got one from a 95 civic si and bolted it up. it fit fine accept it sits out to far and the alt. belt doesnt line up. now in the process of hunting down a stock pulley i've ran into a problem. some a6 pulleys came in a 22mm diamiter and other came in 24mm. is there any way of telling the size of the crank pulley by year/make of motor, without wripping the pulley off and messuring it? it's 4* outside in south eastern wisconsin and i dont have a heated garage to just pull a crank pulley off.

  • As far as I know, they should all bolt up. You're talking about the outer diameter being different, right? If so, you do realize that 2mm is literally nothing at all. You should easily be able to take up the extra slack through the tensioning devices (unless your belts are stretched a lot from age).

no no. i'm talking about the inner diameter that goes around the crank.
  • oh. Then in that case I don't know. I thought they all fit on whatever and were easily interchangeable. Go over to d-series.org, they might know.
  • 88's were the smaller diameter, but exactly when the changeover was no one really knows.
