Changing automatic transmission to manual

hi, i have a guy that can change my car transmission from auto to manual and i would like to know what kind of transmission do i need (my car is a realtime 4wd 90 wagon automatic). to make it manual BUT i also want to put a turbo on my car so probably the manual stock transmission wont hold it... so i would like to know what from what car the transmission will fit on my wagon and also hold turbo.... i wanna put from 200hp or 250 hp total w the turbo. i would like to know what transmission what else do i need for this swap so i can put the turbo on it and make it run.... thank you guys im ignorant with transmissions sorry...

get everything pedal asembly, shifter cables, trans, axles, pretty much everything from the same year rt4wd manual wagon. there really isn't another trans that will be better for boost. flywheel and clutch also

thanks for the link.... do you think the stock manual tranny will hold between 200 hp and 250 hp???? are the clutches from the civic hatchback or crx are the same for the 4wd wagon (year 90)... thanks bro

i hope the tranny can hold that much, because 200hp is my goal.
a couple of people have boosted wagons on here maybe ask them.
as far as i know it is year specific not model specific.

no, the clutches are different. stay year, model and drivetrain specific!

did you install your turbo yet???? and do you think there is any racing clutch for the manual stock transmission?? thanks

yeah ACT makes performance clutches for the 4WD. ask turbo_teg

i know the flywheel is year specific but is it 4wd specific, or only the clutch and to bearing?

mm idk, i would assume the flywheels are only year specific (not drivetrain). but i know the clutches and TO bearings are drivetrain specific (just to be safe though i would stick with the year as well)

ok .... i found this dude, akiraboy, who installed a turbo on his car.... well he gave me a link where they used the manual 4wd wagon transmission on a hatchback. that hatchback had 400 hp. here is the link http://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2104408 so yeah i guess the 4wd tranny (manual is pretty strong) check the link and tell me what you think... if our regular manual 4wd transmission can hold 400 hp then def it will hold the 200 hp that you want.....
  • No offences to those guys intened if I'mworng, however they have gone very slilet about it. Certainly the last time I checekd the threa on H-T about it all there wasn't much information.
I'd love thre tranny to get 400BHP all day long, but just cos an engine makes that peak, doesn't mean you run it at the limit all day long.
