'91 rt4wd, Hopefully last car I will ever own.

Hello there,
So glad to found you all.
My DD is a 1991 rt4WD wagon w 240k mi, with Dealer lower end rebuild at 190k.
I live at 10,000 feet in Colorado winters, and the car is amazing. My driveway is intense. There has been 2feet of fresh snow, and the wagon plows through like a Submarine/Tank. That SL gear is something else. My neighbors looked funny when I moved in, never been stuck. Well one day the big heavy Dodge PU blocked the drive, but my car has always been out.
Up the road in Georgetown, they ice race on Georgetown Lake. A DD rt4WD was taking 1st in the stock class for years, he stopped because it got boring with no competition.
I am not racing my car, I am looking to keep mine on the road for another 30years as a daily driver. I do take it on Jeep trails in the summer here in Colorado
Went from the '91 hatchback, to a '91 CRX, to a '90 regular wagon, and now the girl I call Friday. (Not from the book, but because I swear she was built on a Friday). A few ghosts in the machine sometimes.
I am the second owner, and was having the dealership do all maintenance, but after the $1500 alternator and $1200 CV joint quote, am now using a reputable vintage Honda-Specific mechanic.
My first post will be up soon (I think), about my current Drivetrain issues. driveshaft rebuild advice & Differential Dampner availability.
My mechanic has several rt4wd's and regular wagons in various states of parting out. Once I figure out the correct method, I will post those up to help out other owners.
Thanks for the great community.

    Welcome aboard!
  • Sounds similar to my story, but with more snow. I have broken trail for my wife with snow flowing up over the hood (and the engine overheating from lack of air flow). I love the skeptical looks from the old and offers to buy from envious youts. Welcome.
