How do I remove my engine sump/oil pan? (RT4WD)

Hey guys,

I have searched for this but the only relevant posts seem to link to an old domain which is no longer active.

What is the easiest way to remove the sump from the engine? The transfer case seems to be in the way of a couple of the sump bolts.

Can you remove the transfer case from the gearbox while it's still attached to the engine? Or do I just need to separate the gearbox from the engine, and if so, can they be separated far enough apart if I do it all in the engine bay?

Any insight from someone who has run into this issue before would be great!

    It's been a while since I've been underneath my wagon, but I think the only thing in the way is the exhaust B-pipe. You should be able to get to all of the bolts to drop the oil pan.

    It looks like the transfer case on the gearbox covers a couple of the bolts :/

    Yes people either unbolt the transfer case or separate the engine from the gearbox.

    i did mine by removing the transfer case. better than removing the gearbox.

    did you have to change any gaskets and use any sealant ?
    I've been putting off swapping my oil pan gasket and i swear its the only thing leaking on my car it bugs me but i know you u gotta seperate the tranny but if the way you did it is easier then im trying to do that . because as of rn im just cool with filling oil and waiting for my clutch to go out to give me a good reason to do the work again lol
