front upper sway/strut bar. Why won't it fit?

I was thinking on putting struts all around. But my brother-in-law said that the upper front bar won't fit, due to a part that i forget what he said, is making so any bar won't come across. Can any help me out

Most brands front and rear will fit no worries.

not true. i baught a rear strut bar from esp for from a civic/crx and it was 4" to long. the front i had to drill the holes bigger, take off the fuse box and re-bolt it up after the install
  • i second that the rear strut bar is too long to bolt up requires modification..

The front mght not fit. I remember on my old 2wd dpfi it didnt. The bar would hit the top of the throttlebody. So I bent it a bit to clear. And I also had to remove the fuse box and then bolt it back down by 1 bolt. The rear I used on from a civic/crx and it worked out, the ends were adjustable. C pllar bar works too. get one for a 90-93 integra

the bars i had from my hatch fit straight over to my DPFI wagon perfectly, they WERE adjustable though, if that changes anything.

all this talk about strut bars, c pillars and such.... Show us some pics with them mounted? :)

    Cusco bars look good!
  • Could someone please show me proof of c pillar bars doing anything at all. I can't believe that it could actually make a noticeable difference in handling. I can understand that bracing would help, but in this case the bracing is no where near a crucial point where flex could affect handling (aka, near the suspension). Other types of chassis flex could, but not the type that is bracing for.

Heck, the distance between the pillars could change an inch and it wouldn't affect the handling as long as the suspension mounting points stayed the same in reference to one another (except for the slight weight transfer).
