California Cappuccino

Hey there. This thread is to document by 91 RT4WD build. It was a one owner car with 188,000 miles. I got it off of EBAY this past spring, but haven't had any time to do anything to it. I almost sold it the other day, but eventually decided against it.

Right now it is fully stock. Currently planned:

1. Powder coat the OEM wheels
2. body work: replace both fenders (many dents) and hood (bad spray paint job), fix dents in doors
3. Coil overs
4. aftermarket rims

  • Nice, if you need wheels check out http://www.imadeskidmarks.com/cart/ . Brown is a hard color to find for little parts! good luck. my buddy has a brown oem arm rest if you're interested pm me.
  • I installed my Yonaka coil overs today.

I am not so sure I like the wheels, but I got a good deal on theme including the tires (Dunlop Direzza) $200 for everything.

The steering is wobbly though...could be unbalanced tires.193.jpg
  • Looks nice! How do you like the Yonaka coilovers? I love mine.

I'm really impressed and surprised about the ride quality. I was expecting a rough ride, but it is actually very smooth, just a tad bit stiffer which I like,. I haven't taken it on the twisties yet until I get my wheel balancing issues figured out.

How did you mount the front brake lines? Did you use the brackets from the OEM struts?
  • Yes we cut off the brackets from the OEM struts and we attached them with stainless steel hose clams from Home Depot.
