Filler bolt & rear bushing replacement Bulletin

I've inherited a 91 4WD wagon which has been citified (lots of body dings) and has 255K but runs very strong. It has what I see as one VERY serious problem: Some idiot stripped the steel transmission filler bolt so it's almost round. Took it to a friend's shop and because of the clearance he said the trans would have to be removed to get the bolt off. I'd like to check the fluid!!

Not related to this, another problem is it pulls left on throttle and back to the right on liftoff. Les Schwab (tire store) thinks replacing all the susp bushings will cure that. Makes me wary of them.

I checked one of the posts and it appears replacing the front bushings is easy but the rear should prob mean replacing the lower control arms - Lester wants $400+ EACH for that... not incl labor.

The Rear bushing is replace-able, In the old days the whole arm had to be replaced but honda made a service bulletin about only replacing the bushing.
I worked for Liberty Honda in CT for 2.5 years. Ive replaced that bushing. The easiest way to replace the bushing is to use a air hammer w/ a chisel.
Then push the on bushing in with a axle nut socket. I hope that helped.

on the tranny i would take a 17mm wrench or smaller depending on how stripped it is and weld it to the bolt break the nut loose then cut off some of the wrench so u can spin the bolt out. there might be a better way of getting it off but if it were happening to me this is the best thing i could think of doing without having to pull out or even drop the tranny down.

BTW i work at les schwab infact im writing this from one of our work computers. as far as the pulling did u get an actual front end check or just tell them its pulling?

To clarify: Les Schwab showed me the bushings and it looks to me like they all should be repl'd; this was in Nov. and since then they replaced the right front axle. I don't remember if they said THAT was to cure the pulling (it appears to have reduced it only slightly) or replacing the bushings should do it.

Thanks for the info so far!
