Hello from the Netherlands

Hi, my name is Ton i'm from the Netherlands.

I have a Honda civic EG with a D16Z6 fully built turbo engine.
The drivetrain is from a shuttle real time awd L3-gearbox.

Here are some pictures:

maybe someone remembers the:
Fully built AWD EG Reinforced wagovan tranny + GT28/40
on honda-tech.com a couple years ago.

That's my civic, i built it with my brother-in-law (Dutchaccord)
and my dad.
We had a lot of problems with the engine.

This was the engine with Turbo + supercharger back in the days:

So I decided to let a pro look at it, and they did an a fantastic job.
We changed the Turbo and sold the supercharger.

The new setup:
On the Superflow Autodyn 30
Fully built D16Z6
330whp 400Nm torque 1.1bar turbo pressure
GT2860RS
KMS Md35 management system
external anti-lag system (the real deal)
Fuel E85

The engine on the Superflow:

I was very happy with those numbers.

We took the engine home an mounted it in the car, because it had to go back for a fine tuning.

On the Dyno (the Superflow Autodyn 30)
Only on the Front wheels, because of the VC-coupling.:smug:

The car is for on the Dirttrack.

The office:
Al the gauges areno longer required

Before the KMS MD35 with display.

The back of the car.

I have already changed the ratio of the gearbox.
So it i closer for on the dirt track.
Original Custom made
FD =4,428 FD =4,428
1st = 3.384 1st = 3.384
2e = 1,95 2e = 1,95
3e = 1,275 3e = 1,65 (custom made)
4e = 0,941 4e = 1,275 (original 3e)
5e = 0, 788 5e = 0, 788

Now the engine is ready we have to take a look at the gearbox.
because i think this will be a problem.

So, I have a question are there custom made parts available for the L3-rtawd gearbox.
that can handle the power. Is there someone who has made parts for there L3-RTAWD gearbox

Kind regards,

Ton

  • Everything that I have read leads me to believe that there are no upgraded parts. In fact you cannot get new gears and have to aquire replacements from other used transmissions. People have been able to source bearings and seals but that is about it. However with that said it is know that the RT drive train can handle high 300whp.
  • Welcome to the site. Your English is fine, better than some native English speakers even! Let's see some pictures too please.

    Bad ass!!
    I bet you spent a small fortune on it!!
  • It was not cheap.:smug:

    It's a hobby and sometimes it's a little expensive.
    But if you drive it, you forget it.

    So epic tuning is the only one who had a 400hp awd civic
    with the wagovan tranny?
    Did they launch it hard, are the revs numbers from these lauches.
    Maybe then i can compare them with mine. (to have a safety factor :confused:)

    Thanks guys for your information.
