Car won't go into gear

Hey guys,

So I've been having this issue where my car won't go into gear since I've had it. It only happens when the car starts to get warm and I use the clutch. Like I can leave my house and it will be working great, get on the interstate to go to work (about 30 or 40 minutes) and by the time I get off the interstate to get to work it almost feels like my clutch pedal isn't doing anything. I can push the clutch in and the car won't go into any gear. At a stop I have to shut the car off and put it in gear and then start it. Even when the clutch is in when I start it the car moves forward like the clutch isn't fully disengaging. But once the car sits for a minute, like while I'm at work, I get in and its just fine. But once I get back home it does the same thing.

I've replaced the clutch cable and that's all so far. Also if it helps anything my transmission whirs a little when getting up to speed.

Thanks

  • I've had the same exact problem. What clutch cable did you replace it with? Is it a 2wd or 4wd?
  • It's 2wd and I got a clutch cable from autozone

How is the oil in the transmission ? Your clutch pedal level might have a crack in it.
  • clutch pedal bracket is gucci, that was one of the first things I checked. Sorry, I probably should have mentioned that. I havent checked the trans fluid yet... could that have something to do with it?
