Best Way to Store Car?

Hey guys, I have been working on my RT4WD wagon ever since I got it, but still haven't fixed it (the rear crossmember is bent and I haven't been able to find a replacement), and I'm leaving the country in a week. I'm going to be gone for 9 months, so I'm wondering what will be best to do, so that nothing bad happens to the engine while it is just sitting for that long.

Is it best to keep oil in the engine?

What about fuel? Can you drain the fuel? Are there additives that are good to put in the gas tank if it's not good to drain the car of fuel?

Is it significantly better for the car to have someone drive it every 3-4 months or something?

Trickle Charger on the Battery?

Please let me know of any other things that I may not have thought of..

  • Id just disconnect the battery and leave it, end of the day its just a Honda so its not exactly fragile
  • If you're wanting to add some treatment to the fuel, I've always gone with sta-bil http://smile.amazon.com/STA-BIL-22214-Fuel-Stabilizer-oz/dp/B000B68V6I?sa-no-redirect=1

You can pick it up at nearly any auto-parts store, or order there if you're in the super boonies.

But yeah 2nd'ed on just disconnecting the battery. I don't think it would be worth the effort to hook up a trickle charge on the thing. If you're wanting to be super safe clean the top of the battery and vaseline the terminals. I doubt you'd have to worry about dust with the hood closed but I've seen dust short out batteries on shelves when they've sat long enough.
