Surging when cold.

Last few mornings the car surges (quite noticeable) when under acceleration.
(normal driving conditions 30-40% throttle, no W.O.T stuff). It kind feels like it's mis-firing?

Seems to be ok when the engine is warm.

Is this a symptom of a bad fast-idle? Or could it be spark-plug / dizzy related (or something else electrical?)

I'm not sure where to start looking.

ps: It's the standard D15B4 twin carb engine.

I had a surging idle on my '91 RT4WD when cold and when I replaced the IACV it fixed the problem.

Sounds like the dizzy. Have you pulled the cap to check out the rotor and contacts?
