Automatic to Manual transmission conversions.

Band Wagon
HALP.
I bought Lafonda (1989 Civic Wagon, FWD, AutoD15B2) a few years ago on a whim. Clean wagons with low miles are extremely hard to find in AZ. So, despite the fact that she is automatic and FWD, I bought her anyway. My biggest priority was finding a manual CRX, but my outcome was a mint automatic wagon.
Anyway, I'm looking to do a transmission swap and I have absolutely no idea where to start. Most of my knowledge about transmissions falls under the K/B series manuals.
I know for a fact that there is an excessive amount of work required to do a conversion, but the question is, what kind of "surprises" should i look for? Tips? Links?
Anything helps!:encouragement:
