RT Wont move..clutch, viscous coupler, transfercase? Im not sure!

Hey guys..while driving up an off road trail recently the RT took a poop on me. Basically the revs would just shoot way up but the car wouldnt move. I parked it on the trail and let it sit for ~6 hours while hiking. On the way back down it seemed to be fine again as long as I didnt get on it hard (then the revs would shoot up and it wouldnt accelerate). By the time I got about ~10 miles back to the main road it went out again. It seems to get into gear fine, but then I get on the gas it just revs up and doesnt move.

I had it towed to a friends house nearby and I have since been out of town so I havent had any time to take a look at it. Curious about everyones thoughts? My friend that I towed it to thought it was the viscous coupler..

If it was the VC, the car would still move.

my guess is a front shaft has popped out of the gearbox.

    Clutch. Check that first.

Loosen up the clutch cable and see if it helps

pretty sure we tried adjusting the clutch cable right before we towed it and it didnt help but ill have to double check..I have a bad feeling this is going to take a while since my friend (its sitting at his house) is super busy and horrible at returning calls ugh..

any more info on the front shaft/gearbox thing? Im not very well versed in drivetrain stuff..

lol..so it turned out to be the pass side axle came outta the tranny. Axle was also pretty much shot. #liftedwagonproblems
