I just bought a 87 wagaovan had a ford carb on it but the car came with a seperate engine when i put that carb on it and connected and blocked all of the vacuum lines it starts fine but it revs up and holds between 4 and 6 grand all i can do stop it is cut the car off i need help

    It sounds to me like something is stuck open, or you still have a massive leak that you didn't take care of. What did you do to try to diagnose it? Does the throttle operate correctly, open/close the butterfly? What carb is on there right now, I don't quite understand what you're saying.

    If you start it up and cover up the throttle body completely, does it die?

    It does die i have covered up every vacuum hole/line i can see and i got a carb off another honda the butterfly is working fine

    I've not worked directly on honda carbs but. Stuck float, adjustment screws, idle screw? Have you messed around with any of that?
