ColoradoGreen's wagon.

After owning an em1, ep3 and a del slow over 12 years this is my first Honda build thread. Picked this one up a couple weeks ago in Loveland, CO. 280k miles. Has a little rust and some dings. Missing floor mats and rear head-rests but overall the interior seems like it's in really decent shape. Hopefully more pics/mods to come! Glad I found this place and hope to contribute to the community! :)

First thing I did was paint the wheels.. A yucky/rusty mess! Started to do a silver & red/purple color on the wheels then when I did one and put it on the vehicle I just decided to to them white. This is what one of the better ones looked like:

One finished:

And finally just decided to do all of them white:

  • Alright, a few more pictures, nothing exciting.

Here is a pic of the engine the day I got it. Guy's driveway was a long dirt road so I've got some cleaning to do... Don't know why there are numbers written on valve cover.

Owner said it had a small leak... This looks pretty yucky. I'm no mechanic but I thought I should change the valve cover gasket and grommets for starters... I have been checking the oil religiously. I cannot see any decline though?

Here is inside of valve cover, it appears the valve cover gasket looks fine??? So I left it be and I'm going to save the new gasket set for when I repaint the valve cover.

Okay so I know that the valve cover shouldn't be on too tight, but literally 3 of the bolts came off easily with my fingers with very little effort. I almost wonder how they stayed on with vibration of motor. I put everything back together and put valve cover on finger tight plus a little more from socket wrench. It been driven for a week now and valve cover seems to be fine? Anyways, going to keep my eye on everything. Any suggestions/advice appreciated!
