91 dx wagon dpfi vtec ob1 automatic swap.

Ok.. please dont flame me. My question is slightly different.

so I'm picking up a complete Z6 that came out of a 95 civic ex.

Which includes:
Complete engine & auto tranny.
Ex (mpfi ob1) engine harness and auto ecu.

Rywire.com has a jumper harness but its only for manuals..

Im thinking about going to the junk yard and cut the plugs off the chassis harness of a 95 automatic ex
and just solder and heat shrink the sob. There's two reasons why I wanna do it myself. 1. I dont have $200+ for a jumper
And 2. Id like to learn how to do this stuff! Knowledge is power!

Do have any other options?

Its currently ob0 dpfi (obviously)

I want to keep the auto tranny. Convert to mpfi/ob1 and hook up vtec.

Is there a gosh dang write up on this somewhere!?

I feel like I have most of what I need to have a "semi" painless swap?

Correct Me if I'm wrong PLEASE.

  • Figured it out.. sorry for posting an annoying thread.

    please delete haha.
  • you wont find any info because nobody wants to stay automatic and do vtec on obd0 if your determine on staying auto I run stock ecu with VTEC controller other then that its pointless to what your trying to do you can even do a chassis harness swap from a auto EG but still more work the what your gaining
  • Another thing you can do is get chassis and engine harness out of auto Rt wagon or Auto civic Ex and just run a vtec controller
  • I have the ecu with chassis plugs and wires and harness available to me from an ex civic. But its eg. Would I need it form a ef ex? Are you saying to stay ob0
