Goran's white Beagle build
goranEE9
Band Wagon
My short introduction - Goran, 34 years old mechanical engineer, passionate Honda fan, EE9 & EE4 owner.
My first knowledge of RT4WD Shuttle/Wagon came some 10 years ago while writing about Honda cars history.
The initial spark was the ad on the net, it was in my town, had no pictures, white '88. RT4WD, transmission problem, asking 600 euros… I knew it was a car well-known to me.
The idea was to buy this Shuttle, get it into nice working condition and use it as a daily. Finding more adequate Honda-vehicle for my family and preserving my beloved EE9 during cold winter days, was also on my mind.
Buying the car was almost impulsive, date: May 11th 2013. price: 450 euros.
The good side of the car's state: 177000 Kms, two previous owners, electric windows, mirrors, sunroof with a visor, roof rails, original Blaupunkt headunit, very little rust, new radiator, new clutch, spare clutch cable, new rear dampers...
The bad side of the car's state: broken transmission, dirty engine bay, 13-inch sh.... Opel wheels with different tire sizes, bad paint, no left fender molding, dirty interior, broken driver's seat, non-original spare tire, no tools, no cargo cover, bad tailgate struts...
What I intend to do with it? Yes, you are right, the answer is in this thread's title. I'm aware that Shuttle's and Beagle's are not the same, production year is wrong and white Beagle never existed (as far as I know). Hope it will look nice combining a "Polar white NH-512Z" with a "Silver grey NH-83M".
Future plans: put some decent audio system, light window tint, summer wheels and tires set, Beagle bull bar and fog lights, better exhaust, get some extra hp from its D16A6... As much as I like slammed Hondas, it will stay lifted because that better serves my current needs.
Current plans list (and whats already been done):
-replace broken transmission, done
-small engine service, done
-new brakes,
-engine bay cleaning,
-wheels and tires repacement, done
-interior cleaning, done
-fix broken driver's seat, done
-find spare tire and jack, done
-buy new tailgate struts, done
-getting rid of rust, in the process
-new two-tone paint job, in the process

Awesome wagon.
The infamous rear brown interior makes an appearance- albeit in really rough shape. Im in for the clean up!
Welcome!!!
Love the wheels...

Glad to hear that. The wheels are small but nice looking.
Few serbian words of wellcome. My reply: Hvala, bolje vas nasao!
I also like it. It was one of my favorite parts of the car when I first saw it. On the other hand, I wanted better audio system, already bought the speakers...
Have to admit, at first I wasn't too happy with the brown interior. But things have changed and now I love it.
Thanx! As I said, those are OEM wheels from my EE9 (EE8, EF8, EF9 also had them). They are 14x5.5" with ET55. I used them as a winter set, and they were my first gift to a wagon. Haven't seen them in any Wagon/Shuttle brochure.
Cleaning the car's interior was done during last summer.

I did a thorough cleaning of the interior

Had some doubts whether to preserve these dusty original door covers
Shuttle_47 by goranEE9, on Flickr
Decided to take them off, clean the doors and put some new transparent vinyl

All plastic interior parts cleaned
Shuttle_49 by goranEE9, on Flickr
Interior plastic parts restoration is on the next set of pictures. Fixed them nicely with a soldering iron (for deep scratches) and a heat gun (to restore the original texture and colour).
Repainted part of the center console

Scraped some brown piece of plastic from the back side and used it to close these two holes

Be careful if you do this. The key is to move quickly with the heat gun so that the plastic part doesn't get deformed. I've made a few mistakes, but nothing serious.

Inspiring work and great suggestions including using the heat gun to restore the plastic!!!
Factory sun roof, rear storage compartment, in brown.......I'm jealous to say the least!!!!
Great work!!!!
