painting rear corners

if i paint over the amber part of the lense with some of that see through red paint, will it look ok? anyone have pic's of these? i dont want to end up with a messy look.

  • yep, but i want them to turn out read all the way around, not just redish/amberish, if you know what i mean.

    Use this type of paint...Its made for tail lights. I advise you spray the whole lens. Not the just the corners. It will give it a nice even coat and wont look amberish.

  • i dont know where you got your JDM paint, but i went to michals craft shop and got some stained glass paint.

    I dont know where you can get it online but I got mine in the speedshop by my house. Its made specifically for that. Not sure what results you can get with the stain glass paint but this stuff works really well. One thing thou...Its not cheap. 1 can will run you $25 or $30. If you want me to get you one. Let me know.

  • i'd actually go with some testor's candy apple red transparent paint. here's how my del sol looks. top half is suppose to be amber and bottom is red. I only painted the top half and all seems to match nicely.

    oh yeah, dont forget the clear coats as well. 3 thin layers of red, 3 or 4 med layers of clear
