Rear Lower control arms are different 2wd /RT4wd?

Well, I started digging in to my drivetrain swap parts car 88 RT4wd. I started with the rear and I noticed that the lower control arms are a different design than my 90 2wd setup. The bottom of the strut also mounts different. Does anyone Know if this is because the year difference 88 to 90, or because the 2wd to RT4wd difference? I would rather use the 90 2wd stuff because it's in better shape. I have seen pics of other RT4wd wagons that had the solid lowers like my 90.

its the year difference not the models.

yup, like turbo_teg said, its a year specific thing. just like the EF chassis civic/crz, the '88 year had the ball end on the bottom of the strut while the '89-'91 years had the fork end on the bottom. thus, the difference in the LCA.

but, something i've alwyas wondered. is the ball-type stronger? they used that on the ITR right? meaning there must be some sort of advantage in using this.....

i hope this isnt jacking a thread, but are ef hatchback LCAs the same as the wagon? like, if i ordered Skunk2 LCA for a EF will it fot on my EE... Skunk2 says "fits all models" ..but... you know how that goe sometimes..

nope there the same too. i think u can use 90-93 integra LCAs as well. my buddy is stripping a DA so today im going down to rob all the suspension, breaks, and rear sway bar.

awesomeness. imma order a set soon...

what do you think is better. DA or EF LCA?
  • I've using EF8 LCA's with the shuttle 4WD and EF8 Tein coilovers.
Their mounting point sits higher than shuttle shocks mounting point.

But OEM shuttle shocks are longer than CRX ones so it all evens out.
