Band Wagon
mynameis rick ...I've owned my 1989 wagon for about a month maybe 6 weeks now. Found it on craigslist, it needed needed cv joints and someone to love her. That's where I came in...Nothing is worst than buying a car from somebody who just drives it, but never takes the time to care for it, if you know what I mean. The car looked like it hadn't been washed in years you know that green film almost a moss it covered the car... granted we do get a lot of rain here, so maybe that's why it was never washed. anyway; same goes for the interior, filth galore BUT I can see through that...well 2 car washes later and about an hour of vacuuming and some deodorizing later, I had a car that looked pretty good. The car passed air-care. Next I got the cv joints fixed put on some winter tires (that I saved from my 97 civic now sold) changed the oil and filter replaced the am/fm/cassette with a panasonic am/fm/cd player that I had on standby, replaced the factory speakers with a pair of alpine speakers that I salvaged from the boneyard now she runs/sounds pretty good until I realized the car had no heat coming from the defrost so a trip was made to my mechanic and low and be hold no thermostat (who runs a car with no thermostat?) Well might as well do a tune-up while it's there....so new plugs/distributor/thermostat. A trip to the boneyard for a set of NKG spark plug wires and a set of coco mats. I'm ready for snow.
Would include a photo but couldn't figure out how to get it from my computer to this page.
I love this web site spending hours drooling over some of your builds the tips and info are great! I also have a 1979 Civic and the 1stgencivic.com is also a great site.
Thanks for reading mynameis rick:encouragement:
