#TeamWagon Wisconsin 91 RT4WD

This is my 2nd wagon now..I owned a 87 that was lifted with a light bar, carbed d15 4wd that I got for little to nothing and beat into the ground during high school, n now here I am with the 91 rt4wd. I bought it for $2200 in Stevens Point WI. Its a d16a6 with factory installed cruise control with not a speck of rust (big deal up where I live) so Ive done some minor stuff so far, waiting for parts to lift it and rebuild the SHOT!!! front end! so ill post some pictures of my progress so far..

I was told It was "factory installed" not factory factory so most likely a dealer put it on!..has a honda logo stamped on the unit under the hood tho ;)

Cool! what are you going to do for the rear then?
  • Cool! what are you going to do for the rear then?

Well for some reason the front is super low and the back is super high so I was going to do the front and hope it sits even..if not I got some plans from teggy struts and some chopping
  • got my new front axles and rear hatch cylinders today:)

    380.jpg

    and started taking her apart

    381.jpg

    before measurement about 23.5

    382.jpg

after measurement about 26.5..so i would say a fair 2.5-3 inch total lift

    383.jpg

    only finished one side tonight...

Got the front done, Not going to buy the parts for the back just yet on account of im broke as hell so being a welder and fabricator by trade im going to improvise and see if I can make my own lift without having to hack into the rear LCA like 503 did..

Really? and did you use stock upper wagon control arms in the front or did you get the adjustable camber/ball joint ones? just wondering cause I feel like mine could have been a little longer cause she rubs a bit :/
  • Not Honda Related but I picked my buddy's daughters car up at the impound lot today a few towns over because he didn't have a trailer and took a look at it when I got back home. Hit a deer so hard in the hind quarters it shit all over the fender and mirror! ahahah
    406.jpg

Gonna fix my broken corner light from when I hit a deer last week..if it turns out good ill leave it, turns out bad Ill throw some night shade on it alone with my chipped rear tail lights

The simplest way is to make the stock strut assembly longer. DRMORTY had spacers machined, but I just used some 4" tubing and an extra pair of hats. Easy, cheap, and effective:

I was actually going to cut the 3 accord studs on my front strut and weld the civic hat on it giving it another inch or so but I didn't wanna melt the rubber pad in the hat on the strut but I really like that rear hat stack! might just try that! But Im gonna work on making a grille guard/brush guard next and a roof rack to fit in the factory roof slides!!
  • found a pair bor boat trailer tires laying around the back of the shop today the boss said I could have, talked to him and he said he could get me two more from his supplier for 30-40 each..

    456.jpg

So I decided I wanted to stud them since they are just junky bias ply tires anyway and I just like the looks of the rims! So I started studding with what I had left for tec screws which was about a 1/3 of a box so I made it almost around the tire once..planning on doing some ice drag races this winter on the lake :)

    457.jpg

and my drivers corner light turned out like garbage so I needed to cover it up so I night shaded pretty much all the lights on the whole car tonight! still need to do the rear license plate lights and the blinkers, going to eventually buy projectors and HIDs

    458.jpg

Also was debating on night shading my headlights in a sorta way my buddy did his cummins..thoughts guys??

    459.jpg
  • My thought is "WOOOHOOOO!!!!! Ice racing ftw!"
  • got the one tire most of the way done today..checked the lake and theres about 2.5 inches of ice..so another 4 weeks or so and it'll be 10+ thick if it stays cold like it has been (20 degrees highs and mornings are -2 to -5)

    487.jpg

also I was doing some checking on my suspension since it had a small clunk in the passanger side front (forgot to put the rubber donut on in the inside of the strut hat, oops) and came across this little guy, guess thats what I get for buying cheap 20 dollar (for the pair) control arms..luckly the bolt was in the way it was, otherwise she woulda slipped out and I woulda been fucked, but I took all the control arm nuts off and put on teflon lockers! ;)

Yup home studded..just tec screws and the inside of the tire is filled with that green slime fix a flat stuff, they hold air for about a 2-3 days, but just for ice racing they are fine..

haha that is fantastic! i always wanted to try some ice racing. not much of that in louisiana, but we have plenty of mud!
