The small ones You see on small turbo is 45 mm (1.77"), but to intercooler and to intake it's 2.5" ;)

Could you benefit from 2.75-3 inch though with as much air flow as you have?

I don't get it what are You saying. You say can I make them bigger? I guess it's enough with 2.5" till 500hp..

    It's been a while...
Lately haven't got much time for my Beagle, but something is moving forward always!
So I have bought new YCP vitaras, after some calculations to get CR 8.2, I milled my block 0.6mm more.
I also got other oil pump, because my first one wasn't in perfect condition, now need to port it.
Also bought Tial Q blow off valve, so there are no problems with that.

    8.jpg

Now I will transform my oil pan a little, so I can get a 3" exhaust through and port the oil pump. And then put all back together. Sadly, but only with small turbo, because I need to save money for upcoming trip to USA (still finding hosts where to stay, if someone can help, it would be nice) ;)

For now I'm driving with brothers EK:

    It's coming...

    Ported oil pump:

Yesterday put my new pistons in, first time my self with some consultations of my friend.

Also remade my oil pan, it's already welded, will take a pic today and post it! Turned out very nice.

    97.jpg

That's it for today, I plan to finish engine next week and than just need to swap it in! Can't wait :encouragement:

Oh, and my car is staying at my friends house where I took engine out. Didn't see it for 3 month and recently was there and checked if it's still there :D Already forgot how nice it looked :D

As some of You may know, I will visit USA soon. I am still looking for a place to stay over night and meet new people. I made a map with those places and dates, when I could be there. Maybe someone could help me out?

  • if you were coming down to the LA area man i would help you out.
Love how the wagon is coming long!

You built that whole damn engine without a stand didn't you? It's nice torquing bolts down without the thing trying to fall over. Haha I would recommend one in the future.

    What internals did you use?

And will you be able to use a regular d16 header with your welded pan? Or will it still not clear the transfer case?
  • im right there in san jose
  • Very nice work on the welding.

Yeap, without stand! I managed to torque the bolts with some help of crowbar in flywheel ;) It would be great if I had a garage were to work on cars. I also disassembled my brothers 2 cars totally and put back together in my backyard. Let the pics below talk:

This was the new chassis with spare parts:

    Me making new brakelines:

    45.jpg

    My garage with both civic's:

    Working late:

    And both finished:

    48.jpg

About my new engine.. I did use H beam rods, YCP vitara and ACL race bearings..
About header: I think You have missed a part in my built, I have a custom made header with 2 turbo's and I need to get through a 3" pipe, that's why I remade my oil pan. Now I can only get through a 2.5" exhaust pipe..

Very impressive. I'm about to be moving out of my parents house with a garage to an apartment and I'm not happy about it :( I too will be working a lot outside soon enough

I've seen your headers I just didn't know what you were using as a downpipe.

The 2.5 won't hurt you at all down low, and maybe take a bit off the top but I would run it!

I have 3" downpipe and right below engine it goes to 2.5".. I did this to get more silence exhaust and to reduce exhaust gas turbulence.. I will left it 2.5" for now, because I will drive only with small turbo, but when I will buy the big one and the exhaust will be a restriction for power, than I will make it 3". I just did it now, because I don't want to take out engine again and again :D It's been already too many times swapping it out and in..

ps. I will stay one night in Lancaster, pretty close to You. ;)

I will stay there one night on 10th of September, I guess we will be short on time on 11th of September, because we will have a 450 mile drive to next stop.

Ya I'll be living in reno by then, so if you end up in the Tahoe/reno area hmu. Not much to do in Lancaster it's a good thing you'll only be staying for a day. Looks like you'll be going up the 5 which is a good drive.
I don't know what you'll be driving, but I live right on hwy 2 which is considered to be one of the best driving roads in America. If your driving anything with good suspension come check it out.

Or we could take my 2wd out :)

At start we were thinking to visit lake Tahoe, but we won't have time for that, but plans can change, will see. Can't find highway 2..

    This is our approximate route:

Hwy 2 starts in Wrightwood , the town I live in, and goes all the way down to the beach. Its only open during the summer months because it gets blown out In the winter.

I forgot that I'll be in reno when you make your trip. But lake Tahoe is beautiful if you get the chance I would check it out. Either way you've got a good trip lined up
  • snowbrdsnowbrd Wagonist
Found the road, I have driven similar, and more beautiful mountain roads, this one looks not so "must drive" for me! Than better visit lake Tahoe, that's really beautiful in pictures. Oh, and we will drive a rented car, I guess it will be a 2014' Ford Focus or something similar. It should be fine with suspension :D

Haha ya it was just a thought.

It's a bummer you won't have any of your snowboard gear, Tahoe has many good resorts. Not sure if your in to park but boreal and north star have really good park. One of the main reasons I'm going to school up there!

Oh man! You just punched me in my weak spot! :D I love snowboarding and especially parks (jumps)! I like jumping big kickers and do some spinning in the air! But are the parks open in summer?

Boreal has a summer camp but I don't think its open to the public. The northwest has been hurting for snow badly the past few seasons, but boreal is usually able to open mid October.

Here's some of tahoes finest. Check out the boreal edits. The park there is really fun
