Change of plans with the manifold, I just ordered a pfabrications d series log Mani, looks like it will position the turbo perfectly at half the cost of a custom Mani. Tig welded stainless steel good for 450whp and lifetime gauruntee, you can't really go wrong with that.
I also ordered a brake booster blockoff plate and a 7/8 Wildwood master cylinder. No more clearance issues with the radiator or the intake manifold! I'm excited
If you would have seen this wiring tuck job, you wouldn't be haha. Huge rats nest thru the fenders, under the dash, etc. Anyways thanks man I had to move heaven and earth to get this thing lol. I pulled it 450 miles back home on the back of my 5spd manual Subaru forester turbo with the 2.5l motor. There were some skeptics but she pulled it like a champ!
I wanna see your Forester! Lol. I'm a Forester owner myself but I might be getting into the Honda game.
Ty sir! Hopefully a little more slick once I get my new turbo manifold. I hated having the ghettoleaned radiator. Just not much room in front on these EF bays! I miss my eg bay sometimes.
Nothing like working on your car in the dark and cold. Cabin harness is connected. All the wires are once again where they should be with no rats nest. Now its just a waiting game for my brake booster delete plate, wilwood mc, pfab mani. Brake parts should be here on Wednesday, pfab Mani is made to order so idk when the f that will be here. They said 1 to 2 weeks. And I still haven't even ordered my rywire harness, not enough money. This damn car is sucking me dry lol.
My master cylinder is coming in tomorrow. I decided to just deloom my engine harness and repair it. Gonna get the dash back in tomorrow and then just waiting on a manifold.
Well if you keep up on the chatbox, you'll know that i scored major at at the junkayard two days ago and got a low mileage rt4wd transmission, and a complete drive line. So now I have two extras of everything besides the rear diff lol. I want to go back and get it I just didn't have time to pull it.
I also got a new driver headlight (the one I had on the wagon was cracked and the bucket was somehow missing the provisions for the corner lights? Weird its like someone cut them off): also realizing that the fenders on this wagon had obviously been replaces, because they have the 90 91 style mounts that slide into them instead of the 88 89 plastic threaded bolt holes. (Possibly just those plastic parts had been replaced, previous owner had clear corners on the wagon)
So I bought some clear corners on eBay to go along with my edm tails. Also I purchased some innovative rt4wd mounts (80a track black, because racecar) because I realized I could twist my motor around with my hands lol. Not good.
Unfortunately it was never on the dyno with the other manifold, just a mild street tune on low boost (.4 bar 50 trim turbo). I just ordered an omnipower 2.5 bar map sensor and a new waste gate spring and I will be dyno tuning at roughly 1 bar. Still waiting on a new flange to make my down pipe though
Kudos to innovative for making mounts for the 4wd wagons. That's pretty cool IMO
Not really looking forward to dropping the subframe to replace that rear mount, but it shouldn't be that bad. Might give me a chance to take a look and figure out why I have excessive slop in my steering as well.
Four days later, downpipe still isn't done. Ugh. He says it'll be done for sure on Monday. I guess that's what I get for dropping it at his shop with no appointment and telling him just to get to it whenever he can, lol.
My downpipe came out well. Everything is a pretty tight fit but it works. Just gotta box the lower t bracket support to get rid of the slight angle on the radiator. I'll probably do that whenever I drain the coolant again, im not in a huge hurry.
And no, I don't know what the white stuff is. I assume some kind of loctite he put on the o2 plug.
Sweet build man. I need to not look at this because it makes me want to ditch my H2B Hatch and dive into a go-fast wagon lol.
Any plans to go to Import Alliance? My buddy who is in NM is going to meet me in Denver and we are going to ride out I70 to Kentucky. If the hatch isn't done, the wagon will be making the trip. You're more than welcome to cruise with.
Spring one is in Atlanta, Summer is Kentucky. I haven't heard any Dallas talk but I would most likely never go ha. I spent 7 months in North Texas and hated everything about it. I have thought of the H2D but it seems like it will be a super tight fit...once the hatch moves I may look into it since I have 2 H22's sitting around lol.
It'll definitely be a tight fit. Be prepared for clearance issues. But im sure its nothing that a little ingenuity, a grinder and a BFH can't fix!
I think I'd rather go to the one in Atlanta lol . but I may roll along, maybe I can convince a couple of my buddies. Too bad most of them are into domestics
Truth. I think I may enjoy the turbo DOHC ZC instead of dealing with the H2D RT haha. And no worries if you can't go. My buddy is actually debuting his Prelude in Atlanta that will most likely be in Honda Tuning. https://www.facebook.com/4U3prelude this guy, is 20, has been working on it since he was 15, and one of the best builds I have ever seen from such a youngin.
I have sprung a leak from my oil pan gasket which really pisses me off.
I finally found another 90 91 headlight to install my clear corners.
And, I plumbed in my catch can.
It fit perfectly right in thebracket where the ac evaporator or whatever its called used to go!
You can also see the 80a solid mounts from innovative I installed as well. If you have a really long extension and the patience if a saint, you can even install the rear one without taking off your giant edelbrock intake manifold! (I didn't want to ruin the almost brand new gasket)
Teeth rattlin' goodness, the motor does not move one millimeter.
Yes I know there are hoses everywhere. Bite my untucked bay's ass! Lol.
I still haven't gotten rid of the super cool orange hose. I'm not a fan of it, lol.
I finally discovered the source of the front end float. The driver side caliper was completely locking up, causing it to pull really bad to the left. And, the steering rack bolts were loose :nightmare: as well as the bolts on the driver side upper control arm bushings.
Got all that rectified and it drives great now! Chasing down problems from previous owners is fun!!
Interestingly, I found out the caliper bracket design was changed after 88. Mounts up the same way, but its completely different.

Necessary before tune:
-id1000 injectors
-aeromotive 340lph fuel pump
-rywire harness
-innovative rt4wd mounts
-pfab Mani (purchased)
-brake booster delete plate (purchased)
-wilwood 7/8 master cylinder (purchased)
-redo my downpipe AGAIN ugh
So about another 1500 bucks pissed away into this thing and ill have it how I want it.

Here it is with the new manifold. Just have to redo my downpipe and she's off to the dyno.

Not sure about IA, haven't given it much thought. Isn't the next one in Dallas though? It sounds like fun, I may do that

Edit: that lude is clean. i have never been into tucked bays but they can look pretty sweet.
Edit:
One more shot from the top, to show how the wastegate recirculates into the downpipe.
I really need to get rid of that dumb orange hose. Lol.
Here's a quick shot I took today.

Next up: alignment, tune, and wheels!
