what traction bar are you using?
  • hey what traction bar are you using
  • drfinkdrfink Wagonist
Its a no name one, but I'm pretty sure it's a full race replica.

Here's a crappy video of how my exhaust turned out, 2.5" mandrel bent downpipe to 3"exhaust, through a thunderbird 3" high flow cat, an aero performance 3" resonator, and then a 3" aero turbine muffler. Its pretty quiet. My friends stock 87 accord hatch withan axleback is louder lol.

Damn thats alot of work. When yo said your going to replace your rusty chassis you mean swap all your work into a new body? Thats determination! Keep up the good work man and dont freeze to death.
  • drfinkdrfink Wagonist
Yeah man, swap everything over. Then I'll probably rape all the useful parts off this chassis, and scrap whatever's left

And thanks man, estimate I got around 150- 200 hours into this thing. This is the first time I've ever built a motor and I couldn't be happier lol!

    PS new wheels coming soon!
  • O I see you already have a traction bar, right on.
  • drfinkdrfink Wagonist
Yessir. Not too much chance of fitting all that stuff in the tiny engine bay without one. Ha.

Not really a car update but I cleaned my garage and can now actually fit two cars in it! Also, picking up the other wagon on sunday. Pretty stoked!

I picked up that new Mexico wagon and swapped everything over. Had to clean up one of the worst wire tucks I've ever seen. Still pulling my hair out over a code 6 and 10. Can't figure out where the issue is.

  • Few better pics of the new chassis

    Coming very soon:
-paint match on the rear panels,
have my body guy pull out a few dents,
-touch up a few places on the paint.
-And remove the miniscule speck of quarter panel rust
    -rota shakotans 15 x 8 0 offset
    -dunlop direzza 205 55 15s
-chasebays brake booster delete and prop valve relocation kit (for clearance of my edlebrock IM)
-rywire harness (finally got most of my wiring harness fixed but the cabin harness in this shell is so bad) (thanks whoever did the shitty wire tuck ahem OILSPOT )
-new turbo manifold by CO RACE FAB (great fab shop in Greeley co)
    -finally a dyno tune lol!

Its been a journey, glad to be nearing the finish. Im gonna break vipryanns quarter mile record with this baby!!
  • very nice! i like
  • thanks man! its nice to have clean body panels lol.
  • So, the wiring problems from this whole nightmare of a wire Tuck have finally driven me out of my mind. I ripped out the entire wiring harness. Gonna try to hunt for a NOS cabin harness, or rip the one out of my other shell.

Where is your right side mirror?
I've seen quite many wagons without it.
  • That's because they didn't come standard on efs. They were a dealer installed option, so a lot of them just come with blockoff plates.
  • Started putting in the cabin harness fromy other shell today. Swapping cabin harnesses isn't as hard as I thought it would be, the only hard part is taking out the dash.
  • I'm pretty jealous buddy
  • If you would have seen this wiring tuck job, you wouldn't be haha. Huge rats nest thru the fenders, under the dash, etc. Anyways thanks man I had to move heaven and earth to get this thing lol. I pulled it 450 miles back home on the back of my 5spd manual Subaru forester turbo with the 2.5l motor. There were some skeptics but she pulled it like a champ!

Took the cabin harness out of the 88 and put it into the 89.
