Major Congrats, Dave. With all that going on, particularly including location change, and the T bracket snafu being the only snag, I'm throwing several At-a-Boys your way.
I'm hanging out in Fairburn, GA this week. Great weather here for wrenching .
A couple of things have happened. Did a oil change on the LS and now there is no water mixing with the oil. Don't know how the water got in there but it's not happening now. Also put the dash back in and cut the shift linkage down to the right size and have to weld it back up.
So it been awhile but I found out that I cant apparently read lol. Alternator is not dead. The pulley was binding up on the body and apparently you have to hit it with a hammer so the pulley clears. I is a noob I guess.
So got all the rust holes patched up on the exhaust (just two quarter size holes). Car it driveable now. Open header was not fun at all. I will start stripping my wheels today when I get off work.
Drove the wagon to work for the first time. Alternator pulley is touching the body a little and it pulls a little to the left after I replaced the tie rod. But all and all Im pretty happy. It was a boring ass 16 miles to work due to radio.
Thanks. Its been a hard to get it back to road worthy. Pervious owner knew nothing about cars and didnt take care of it at all. I was barly running when I got it and was eatting tires like it was nothing. Now I starting to do body work. Started sanding it down yesterday.
Well Its been awhile but two weeks ago ignition went out on my wagon. If I would have got pulled over, the cops would have been asking some questions. Hell I even felt like I stole the car lol. The piece where the end of the key turns the ignition over was striped out. Had to no tools put a screw driver and vise grips.
Well the plan was to build a poor man using gsr internals in a b18b1 block but yesterday I picked up a c1 block for my obd0 dpfi dizzy and 10 bucks. Pretty good deal if you ask me lol.
How do think I feel?? Lol I plugged the new ignition in and turned the key over and it started blowing full blast cause I had it turned all the way up. Either way the car is much more of a joy to drive in the cold lol
Haha I bet!! That is king of wild! I'm intersested now how it is connected! I'm gonna dig through my service manual and see if anything looks be using the same circuit!
