DRMORTY - New EF - 9/7/13 - 1989 CRX Hf

So... I got another car... And so, Little Blue ( my hatch ) will be leaving the corral next week. :(

I finally got my hands on a stock CRX Hf.

It's an early 1989, so seat belts on the post!

She's White with blue interior.

And, she's basically a 1 owner car.

Amazingly she has 305,xxx miles on her, but was dealer maintained and was rebuilt at 280,xxx.

And, She runs awesome!!!

She did however have a little fender bender about a month ago, so she needs a little sheet metal ( hood, fender, possibly core-support ) and a little love.

Ya, over the years I personally help destroy a bunch of these and turn them into race/rice cars.. I remember throwing away complete drive-lines..

I am going the opposite direction with this one..

I'd like to find a spare tranny.. But, for another project.

    -Complete Belly Pan
    -Removalble Boat Tail
    -Grill Block
    -Tire Spats or Contoured Deflectors
    -Smooth wheel covers
    -Lowered
    -Rear wheel skirts
    -Wiper area delete

    Just to name a few

    :)

    removal of both side mirrors.

    antenna block off plate.

I have a crx core support that I bought to rebuild my hf. I welded it on then took it back off when I scrapped the car.

Removable boat tail would be sweet. Also definitely gotta get rid of at least one mirror!

I'm trying to think of some way you can seal off all the seams on the car but still have functioning doors/hood/hatch...maybe some sort of thin rubber flaps? Hmm....

I a doing a mirror delete for both sides.

I am definitely thinking of ways to cover seams too.. Besides tape.

So.. I haven't posted much about this one...

    Whats New..

Um.. Licensed it and have been driving her a bit..

    1. First tank I averaged 43mpg and then I decided to pay attention to the shift light and keep my foot out of it... what would you know 48mpg 1/2city & 1/2 highway... I'm impressed....

    2. I had put a red CRX hood on it for the driving and semi-straightened the drivers fender..

    3. Just last week, I sanded and primed and flat whited the hood to match the faded stock white for now.. and then 2 days ago I decided to paint the Hood Gloss white, as it might match a little better... And then yesterday I decided to paint the hood "H" logo black and look around a see what i could start straightening, to get her back to shape.. Starting to look a little more respectable.

    4. :( Tonight I went for a drive to a friends house in her... And right before I pulled up the their house.. I, all of a sudden realized... I forgot to latch the hood and the Latch was damaged, so it had no Secondary.. S.O.B. Now I need another New hood and a windshield.... WHHAAMMMMM!!!!!! I couldn't see where I was going... And, that is when I was kinda laughing at myself... So, I had to stop and secure it... Then pulled up a my friends house around the corner... Now, a little anger sets in.. I have been saving that hood for 3 years, for my other CRX and now I have NO Hood.. Opps, just doesn't cut it.. Of all the stupid thing I could have done.. I was getting really excited about daily driving this thing...

    :( :( :(

CRXs and hoods dont go together very well!

That's funny... at least he stayed on the throttle for the win.

Vladi is right. One of my CRX buddies is on his 3rd windshield and 4th hood.. lol Good thing his is a little slutty track CRX.
It's because CRXs are just sooo bloody fast!! :p haha

    Funny thing...

This isn't my first hood to fly up... Just my first on a Civic.

    This is my 30th CRX..
And this same exact thing happened to my 1st on too.. Only, it was with my brother at the wheel.. And, I sold the car after it happened.. And since, I bought many more... :)

I keep saying "This is the last Civic I'm buy." and I somehow keep finding more and buying them too...
  • DRMORTYDRMORTY Council Member
I temporarily semi straightened the hood... still looking for one.
