New Wagonist
I replaced my d16a6 that was original to my 1990 rt civic wagon with a d16a6 out of a unknown year crx and noticed the crank pulleys were different so i used my crank pulley off my old motor. the car has no get up and go and leaks oil from the front main seal. the crx motor has all new rings and bearings and gaskets. does it matter what crank pulley I use? does it effect the balance of my rotating assembly?

Step 1: Rotate crank pulley to TDC
Step 2: Loosen tensioner. The timing belt will get loose. Slip it off the camshaft sprocket.
Rotate sprocket so that the 2 marks are aligned with the flat part of the mating surfaces (headgasket) of the head and block.
Slip the timing belt back on
Tighten the tensioner.
The pulley should have a white mark to align TDC. If yours is rubbed off I can look at my factory manual and get back to you. Maybe try a google image search?
