Whats the best offset?

Alright,
I'm looking for a set of wheels, and was wondering what offset I should run..

My 17s were a 45 offset I think, and in the front they looked good, but they looked like they stuck out in the back.. I don' want them too far out, I want them to look clean..

Suggestions on offsets?

  • i really depends on the with of the wheel. you 17's were probably 7-8" wide and that is why the 45 offset made them stick out. if they were 15" tall 6.5" wide wheel, a 45 offset would sit in to far. what size and width are you looking to get?
  • I want some 15" around 5-7" wide..
  • i recomend getting 30-32mm offset for a 6.5" wide 15" wheel. i had a set that were 32mm and they looked great. if you plan on tucking them, go with 35mm so you dont slice your tires.

Is this for looks or handling?
  • I'd rather have function over looks..

    15x6.5/7" rims, 40ish offset, 195/50/15's..
  • for function, i would say 7" wide with 35mm offset with 205/50-15 for front, and 6.5" with 38mm offset and 195/50-15 for rear if its for fwd. if its 4wd, 7" wide 35mm offset and 205/50-15 all around. the further you can get the tires outside the car, the better handeling and stability you will have. not trying to disregard you Pacifier, but i am just trying to explain things further. just my 2 cents.

And the more stress you put on your wheel bearings, kuckles and C.Vs... is this function going to be put to good use? :)
  • Haha true.. I think I'm going to pick up a set of HX wheels.
  • i have a set i good condition. $300 (sorry, i know its not the for sale section) shiping might be kinda expensive tho
  • Hey Kahuna...

15x8 35offset. All around handling and freeway performance is great. No rubbing from lock to lock.
