H2d rt?

So, I'm looking at Bisimoto's H2d conversion kit and wondering if it could work on a RT wagon. Anyone else looking into this or attempting it? Obvious problem is the half shaft. Is there going to be room to clear it (bisimoto says to shave a strip off the h22 block to clear the axle) and where would we mount it? Any Idea's on the subject? If I find some money to order it, I'll start a build thread for it on my DD RT wagon.

I think you'd have more clearance issues with the oil pan than the half-shaft.

Although, the oil pan issue would probably be easier to solve.
  • Agreed, I had been thinking about that. Was also thinking of setting up a mount for the halfshaft that let it rotate away from the block a little before bolting up. Need to look at the back of my prelude motor and see what kind bolting options there are.

I have seen this first hand. there is a guy in tacoma who did it I saw it with my own 2 eyes. it wasnt running but was in the car. you gotta notch the block and yes mod the oil pan. he is a lurker and I dont know if he has ever posted it online anywhere.
  • Sounds about right, and awesome! If you know him, get him to post some pics and go over some problem-solution shit he has had to deal with. I would love to see it.

what about the front diff... i figured the angle of that would make a big problem...
  • that's what we were talking about when we said you would have to modify the oil pan and knotch the block. In fact, that is pretty well the only problem. As all of the problems are directly related to it. Only other problem I can think of is whether power steering can be retained.
  • i was wondering about an H2B swap into an rt. have you put anymore thought into this ???
