this is my 1970 beetle/dune buggy that i reacquired. i owned it about 3 years ago and sold it to a buddy (the same guy i got the hearse off of). i was going to trade him my isuzu pup for a 1935 ford and a 1973 squareback, but that fell through so istill got the 1935 ford, and traded the isuzu for the dune buggy. but he painted it raspberry, which wouldn't have been my first choice of colors. everything else is pretty much the same from when i owned it the first time. its a 1970 vw beetle frame shortened about 12''. the body is a fiberglass meyers manx style body(im not sure if its an original meyers manx, but i doubt it). the motor is a stock 1970 1600 single port motor and 4 speed transmission. the motor was originally mated to an autostick transmission. i put a new reconditioned front end on it, and a disc brake kit in the front, and new drum brakes in the back. the engine now has an alternator, instead of a generator, and some new engine tins. new clutch, flywheel, pedals, hoses, mounts, cables, lines, etc. i still need wiring and some little things here and there. maybe a color change, or flames. i have the headlight buckets, and im thinking about using a set of 1953-1954 bel air taillights. the frame we braced with some 2''x2'', and 1''x2'' steel.the floor is 18 gauge sheet metal.i figure when my chevelle is done, i will start putting some more time, and money into the vw.[IMG][/img][IMG][/img][IMG][/img][IMG][/img][IMG][/img][IMG][/img][IMG][/img][IMG][/img][IMG][/img][IMG][/img][IMG][/img]
