Honestly i wanted to go with 2012 corvette Inferno orange metallic, but i saw this on a truck at a local show and changed my mind last minute.... What part of ATL you from?
East Atlanta, Edgewood. I met you at IA. It's awesome how you're doing so much with your wagon. The color should look awesome on the wagon. Very different.
(The wagon is in the tank chase scene in FF6, btw. I think when the tank makes a u-turn. The action was a little hectic, so it's hard to keep straight)
We dropped the metal flake on my wifes prelude when we painted it also. We picked a 03 vette and dropped the metal flake layer.
Damn I miss that car.
Looks good Doug, lots of work.
If the paint shop school needs a car to experiment with I'd gladly hand over the crx for a paint job.
I will check to see if we have any openings for next semester.... but the way it usually goes is you pay for materials... which usually comes out to between 500-700 dollars depending on the amount of body work needed... Also I dont know if we r doing complete color changes (ie the door jambs and hood and trunk jams)
I am not omitting the metal flake in my color i am shooting it after the base instead of mixing it in the base. My paint is gonna end up being a multi stage meaning base coat, flake coat, pearl coat, clear coat
Daaaaang! That color looks tasty! Nice n crispy golden brown like the best damn waffle cooked to perfection. You're making me hungry, man! LOL!
Also props on the headliner from earlier and the tip about fabric thickness, I think I'll give that a shot myself! Mine's sticker bombed with a punkish plaid upholstery thing going on. Though, your idea about it looking like a stary night sky is very tantalizing. Especially if you use flat black and do a paint speckle with some glow in the dark paint. Could even put in real constellations. That way it might look a bit more organic.
Looks beautiful from here. Can't wait to see the whole car that color!
Neither can i ...I have until the end of the semester to get as many of the removable body parts painted as I can.. then next semester I will bring the core body (everything minus the doors and front clip) in and finish the paint job...

Thanks Mix. I honestly wasn't thinking food. I wanted the Inferno orange from the 2012-13 corvettes until i priced what it costs to make that paint....... My cost on this paint (5144 fomoco) is 78 $$ a gallon. (no i cant sell anyone paint sorry guys)... on the headliner note Thanks again.. My thoughts on it were to take a sharpie marker and black out the unnecessary dots and leave the Complete Constellations. Including Planets moons and suns
this is the map I want to use which is the 88 recognized constellations by the NASA administration....
Painting has come to a stand still unfortunately ... I ran out of MB 580 toner at school so i have to wait until we get some more... bored today i installed my NRG quick release and steering wheel today
Another small tidbit i did to the wagon today just to clean up the look a little bit were these brushed aluminum bolts and washers. I am going to eventually redo all the bolts in the engine bay this way...... I am thinking of removing the valve cover and repainting it as well, here's some pics for you

Yep always been blade silver.
As Doug Ver.1 says it is the harliquin edition right now due to the different color body panels.
