I'd say they are average wheels. If only they had their own designs...I think they'd get more credit. I have Rotas on my car(its an Integra BTW) and they look good, but meh ya know what I mean?
Theres not many new styles of wheels anymore, and most that come out are copies of others that were copies of.....and this goes on forever. Rota does a good job with thier knockoffs. They keep the style very close at a decent price, and often in more color options that the original manufacturer.
im sportin' those miata rims too!! look at the profilepic to see mine. i'll be going up 15's soon tho. since i dropped the car, i wanted to get rims that will better fill the hole. the 14's just dont do it as well.
anyone know someone selling GS-R rims? either the blade-type or the mesh from the gsr/ls. either those, or the '99 Si rims? any sellers?
the car is lowered now, but that pic was before i lowered it. its not that low either, 1" in the front 1.5" in the rear. slamming isnt really my thing
. ill take pics soon and post up in the members section
Mine's lowered...maybe 1-1.5", nothing too radical.
What it does have is much stiffer, better responding springs/shocks. The improvements from further lowering the ride height were negligible. And it could be a lot lower since the 3rd gen have the adjustable height front. The rear is progressive rate Accord Suspension Technique spring with two dummy (IIRC) coils cut and one load bearing coil...there was still two more dummy coils to remove on the other end of the spring...it would drop it another .75 or so, but I'm not going to do it.
It handles in hard dirt and gravel just like I want.
But yeah, just by looking, it appears near stock...blame it on the 14" rims and the fact that it was originally the extra tall ass 4wd setup. I test fit an Integra 6 spoke 15"('96) awhile back...it looked great, but like I said, I'm cheap and a weight nazi.
Don't they make those rims in 15"? They're listed with a pic(where I'm from a flic can be a picture or a movie) as 14" and 15" on Ebait. Both your paint jobs are sick. I think I would go semi-flat black myself.
Ups to Davens and Duckie310 for the remind on cross brand shopping. I rolled some Mazda rims on my 510 back in HS. Light and most important cheeeap.
hey that was me with the remark about the miata rims, i forgot to sign in  im thinking about putting gsr blades on my 86. i think they would go well with the angled bodylines. i like rotas too though. im also thinking about some black slipstreams in 15". davens, what kind of paint did you use to paint your miata wheels? did you use any kind of clearcoat or protectant, and how many coats did you spray on?
mine looks semi-stock too. when my friends looked at it, they have do a double-take and ask, "something done to that?" the backend sits lower, which is what i like because ive always thought the wagon's ass sat way too high. now, its more evened out....so it it looks a lot better sitting lowered.
14" only
i should really drag myself outside to clean up the wagon and snap some pics.....
Yes, there are some 15" Miata rims, but they lack the cheap-O appeal.
My rims are powdercoated gloss black. Powdercoating needs only one coat and depending on what type of powder, usually no clear coat is necessary.
I picked up a powdercoating gun for $70 at Harbor Freight and a used electric oven for another $75. Its a very useful capability. It takes a couple practice tries, but you can be doing professional quality work very quickly.
Here's an ITR rim I did:
Here's a breakdown by year/model that includes all the available Miata wheels and their corresponding weights.
Starting in '95 there was a 15" option and later it was standard. There is even a 16" available but its rare/expensive.
I would love to get my hands on the BBS optional 14s that weigh 8.5lbs.
I've been looking for miata wheels for a while...hardly see them pop up on eBay, where did you guys get yours? Locally? How much did you pay. I would rather do 14's on my '78 wagon just so I can make complete U-turns instead of 3-point turns again The 195/50ZR15 Potenza I have are just a tad too wide but the handling is great. Plus then I can put those 95 GSR wheels/tires on my CRX

proud to be a Filipino!!!
but nothing could beat the real ones!
me likey Spoon SW388 Ultra Light Wheel..
They are heavier and not quite as strong as the real deal, but i do think not by much.
Remember folks... you get what you pay for!

Ya, me too
Me three...hence, my attraction to Miata wheels. Dirt frickin cheap and lighter than an anorexic crack whore snorting helium.
*note the upper right hand corner...my daily driver Protege, also with miata wheels.

...additionally, there are numerous sellers who think selling wheels individually will get them a higher price. You can get a set for about 160-200 that way.
I got all three sets of mine off Ebay.
1 90-93 set for $99
1 90-93 set for $130ish...had good tires
1 94-97 set for $160ish
