Band Wagon
Hey civicwagon.com I got a question for you all. 1988 4WD wagon with 250k miles curious as to how I value such a vehicle. A number I keep getting is 1900 bucks. Its a baby blue color with a turbo kit. Interior is near complete and the paint isnt faded nor missing the clear coat. This vehicle would be considered "classic" from its age and I'm not real big in the wagon scene. wouldn't know where to begin to value such a car but I have the best opportunity to purchase one. I don't want to offend the owner but he is a friend of a friend. If I can give him a fair offer or at least give him my fair offer and back it with detailing facts he should respect that. Any criticism is welcome. I will try to supply details per request. Thanks for looking and keep driving safe! :encouragement:

I too am from the 562 and own a blue RT, not turbo'd though. On the west coast, I feel 1900 is fair value of a civic wagon in good condition. But on any vehicle, you would really want to do a thorough check and even have a mechanic give the okay, even then it’s still a crap shoot. You also have to factor in how much you want that particular vehicle. If the wagon is something you’ve been wanting to own then you would probably pay a bit more for it. Don’t feel like you have to pay more for the fact that it’s got a turbo; you may get home with it and find out it was a hack job…just my opinion.
It’s all a matter of how much satisfaction you’re going to get from owning it.
Good luck!
