New Owner and need some advice!!

Just picked up my first car, a 87 wagon civic rt 4wd with 165,000kms on it. Its bone stock with minor rust on under wheel wells. I have no real mechanical background and I was just wondering what would be some of the most basic things I could do on it, parts and clean up etc... Pics will be up soon!!!
