Hello everyone,
I'm new to the "honda scene" although i have been in the car scene for quite a long time now,
I am currently doing doing an engine swap on my daily driver and cant drive my track car on the road so i decided to pick up another daily driver in the mean time. I was lucky enough to run into a fellow coworker whom had driven a awd civic he bought new in 89, after some catching up and small talk he mentioned he had stopped driving it due to a rod knock and parked in backyard for the past year, I ended up buying it from him for a great deal, $200 for a 1 owner very clean awd wagon, although i dont know much about hondas i knew i could not pass up this offer. So I trailered home the car this week and put a battery charger on it and started it, started right up no problem but around 3500 rpm you could hear a rod knock. following my great luck with awesome prices on things lately a friend of mine told me he had a complete d15b7 sitting in his garage and he said he'd give it to me. So i look forward to reading & learning as much as i can in these forums and hope i can return the favor to other members.
Also a lil bit of my backround: ASE certfied tech for past 5 years. tech at chrylser dealership although recently switched to parts department due to back problems
Other cars include my daily driver E34 bmw 5 series which is under going a complete custom susp setup and ls1 swap, & my RHD 180sx track car, full 14point formula d spec cage, custom fuel cell, topend built red top SR20DET running solid lifters, tit valve spring, 252 exhuast cam, with mild port and polish on head, greddy intake mani, with 75mm port, rb26 tomie 75mm throttlebody, s15 duel bb t28 turbo on custom mani, 3in turbo back exhuast, S15 bottem end with eagle rods and pistons, ka24de 5 speed swap with stage 3 ACT 4 puck clutch, alum driveline, dcsports coilovers, tein s14 steering rack spacers and extended tierod ends, HR 35 mm hubcentric spacers,(in process of making knuckles) and of course a good old fashion welded diff lol. lots im forgetting but thats what i can remember off the top of my head.
