New Wagon owner in Michigan
Michigander
Band Wagon
I'm a mechanic in Michigan who works almost exclusively on big 3 stuff, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to buy myself a ripped to shreds RT4WD civic which came from New York. I have wanted one for quite some time in fact. Someone who had it before appears to have loved it, because they took the time to put about 90 pounds of bondo on it, but they knew little if anything about cars, as is evident by the sad state of the underside. Among other things it will need a ton of patch work, and perhaps the most aggravating problems are rotted off rocker panels, a busted rack and pinion, and trailing arms which are so rusted as to be apparently unsafe to drive on. I will have my work cut out for me turning this into a decent car again, that is for sure. But I'm looking forward to it, because I've got next to no body work experience so this will be an important learning project for me, (which was much the reason why I bought it instead of having one shipped from a state that is warm, dry, and isn't so stupid as to salt roads). I also look forward to learning about my new (old) car on this forum.
