since you said that. how much info do you know about it? is it just a bolt on? they also offer some sort of engine mounts, would the mounts they offer work for my car? is it all the mount, if you know? (innovative mount inc.)

the reason i ask is that tomarrow sunday, i have an appointment to get my downpipe fabed. it would be so much better if this thing fit on my 4wd wagon. it would give the fabbers some room to fit in the pipe correctly. so i basically i would need to reschedule my appointment time to next weekend. if this doesnt fit i would just do what ever it needed tomarrow.

they should be able to fit up to a 3inch pipe no problem even with your stock cross member. from what i read it seems like u can get it with or without the spot for your front mount. iono all the info is right there ask them a ? if u need to.

man i wish i was rich thats a bad ass idea i might just build my own or atleast something similar.

it isnt that bad. i was going to do the cheap way but i noticed i didnt like the feel of doing it half-ass. so i decided to just spend the money on doing it right cause i am the type that keeps his toys for a long time.

my civic was sitting there for about a month while i was finishing up my subie. now that my subie is at about 90% done to where i want it. i am going to put more attention to the civic again.

    my ride: 4wd 91 stock D16

here is a pic of the crossmember.

    prodl_fcma.jpg

    Description:
Replacement front crossmember. Designed to give more front clearance for an 88-91 civic or CRX. Clears all factory and aftermarket headers. Factory radiator may be used or 92-00 Civic half size radiator. Add Innovative Mounts radius rod bushing kit to transform into a traction control kit. Now Features a front mount point for 4 mount applications. Add optional front mount for hi-torque engines. Front mounts are available for B series engines or D series engines.

i hope this works cause i will call them tomarrow to check.

i need to try on one of the EF ones I sell...

    28.jpg

$280 for EF, and no having to use a different radiator like some of the ones out there. mounts to stock locations too. i loved this thing on the EG, no more wheel hop. i haven't really thought about the header clearance issue on my rt4wd but i doubt i'll be using a header, would be nice just for the added room and stability/less stress from hop/travel.

    where does that go>?
do you have a pic of it on the car?

it looks kinda like the item i posted. it just seems to replace the stock arms that goes through the crossmember.

the only thing i see missing , if it is the item that replaces the crossmember, is the engine mount for the front

thats dope i like how it ties into the mounting points for the tow hooks. im local i might just have to come pick me up one of these. do u have the brackets to mount the radiator for it as well?
  • 949949 Senior Wagonist
do you have a site for this?
will this work on the 4wd wagons?
  • FRITOFRITO New Wagonist
i wasn't able to go test fit on the rt4wd model, daughter got sick...

anyway, yeah it mounts right where the tow hooks would be and replaces the x-member, there are also no radiator mounting brackets and the reason there is no mount is that it can be used with b series swaps in EF also.

not the best pics tho, let me know if you wanna come pick one up. i will have it test fitted this week.

    thanks

will i still be able to sit with the stock radiator mounts?
  • FRITOFRITO New Wagonist
yes i don't see why not. i will do some checking on that this week. i'm hoping today i can get a chance to look at different issues people have had with different traction bars. since this does away with the front lower x-member i would assume that yes it works with stock radiator as long as your radiator does not sit in the x-member. (been awhile since i looked down in an EF).

i'll have an answer this week though...
