starting my build thread. will be slow as i dont make much, but i have some goodies already. car is an 88 2wd 5 speed. I loved my ef hatch and this is even better cuz its a wagon.
plans for car: lower (koni yellows/h r springs) body work and paint this summer. engine swap eventually. fan boy stickers, mad swag. here are some pics of the car with yakima rack/basket case and ski/snowboard holder with fairing. Also got my rims in. 15x8 et25

thanks guys. I will definitely post pics of them on the wagon. I dont want to cheap out on tires so going to wait until my tax return. Got my password jdm shift knob! feels much better than the counter weight shift knobs ive had in the past. going to get a short throw shifter to compliment it.

thanks. really mad .. did the head gasket and its still blowing white smoke !! oil is milky again too. I dont see what went wrong. i got it pressure tested and machined $187 new head gasket kit $150. i torqued it
in the correct order, first 22 then 49. is there any other way the coolant can get into the chambers? im $340 into this engine and its still shit!
  • Can't wait to see it with the drop and Enkei 92's!

    Super clean looking wagon, welcome!

As far as your headgasket issue, it honestly could be any several number of issues! Post up in the engines forum, we'll help you out.

well i wasnt smart enough to empty the coolant when i did it and when i pulled the head off and intake manifold coolant spilled everywhere so my dads friend whos a mechanic said it most likely got into a lot of oil passages. we borrowed his rad pressure tester and the rad held pressure for 30 min no problem. did another oil change today and ran the car for a bit and the white smoke is very minimal now. must have been left over in the exhaust. gonna transfer insurance over to the civic and drive it for a week and see if its okay. if it checks out i can sell my subaru and buy my lowering set up. not sure if i want coilovers or struts/spring combo. I picked up another engine for 40 bucks if this one goes anyways. tomorrow im washing and applying stickers and maybe put my good stereo in.

brandnew raceland coilovers, more stickers and energy suspension shifter bushings. I know people hate on raceland but i had them before on a eg and they suited my lifestyle and the roads here in bc.
gonna attempt installing tomorrow. just depends if the lca bolts decide to be friendly or not. going flush not hellaflush. stay tuned!
