How many of those Volks do you have? I have two and I'm looking for a matching pair. Mine are 4x114 as well and I have the 97 ITR suspension to mate it to so if you have them for sale I would be interested.... :D

If so, mine are 5x114.3 and not selling sorry.

    Slight update:

Bought 2 new steering wheels, one Leonard Volanti and one Nardi Classic,
Plan is to use to Leonard Volanti and refurb it, I havtn done it before so want to learn how to.

...and here is the nardi mounted. The wood is in good condition but some of the chrome is chipped slightly around the logo engraving and the edges of the spokes. Thinking of giving it a light sand and then repolishing it.

Your wagon is looking rather snazzy! Gotta question. How are your wood bead chair seat covers feeling? I've been wanting something to match my steering wheel which is wood and there's not much I can think of at the point.
  • r8edmr8edm Wagonist
Yep they'r allright. Dont know if the beaded seat covers make the seats any more comfortable, but certainly isn't uncomfortable.
I mainly bought them to match the wood style I wanted in the interior.

Alo all :) long time since its been updated!

Its officially 6months since I have owned the car, which means the car's 1st WOF (Warrant of Fitness) inspection is due under my ownership.
Before I took the car for the WOF I needed to replace the left rear shock as the it is worn. A lovely chap local NZH and Civwagon member SiRge kindly sponsored me with a free replacement shock. Car went in for the WOF inspection and passed with flying colours!

For a while now Iv been um and ah'ing about suspension for the shuttle. Originally I wanted some circlip shortened Bilsteins shock to lower it, although in the end I decided to go for coilovers as it allows me to adjust the height exactly where I want. I ended up buying some BC Gold coilovers and they turned up yesterday morning.

    450.jpg

The coilovers compared to factory shocks.

    452.jpg

I installed the suspension yesterday avo, all went well except one of the front suspension's brake line mounting brackets isn't the same as the factory shocks?
Not sure why, but that means that the brake line is only mounted on one bracket as it doesn't quite reach the second bracket.

After installing them, this is how he sat. Face down, as up...

    453.jpg

And after some mucking about, I raised the front and lowered the rear an inch or so just to get it even.

    454.jpg

This is the height the car will be for a while until I organise some tyres for my SSRs.

    455.jpg

Once I fit the SSR's Ill lower it to suit and install some adjustable camber arms at the rear.
That's about it. Cheers for reading! :)

Very nice work! Do you have any bump steer at all?
  • r8edmr8edm Wagonist
Oh not sure what you mean by that? is this it -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKJAukSZRT0

If so, not sure to be honest. Haven't noticed anything or it hasn't been significant enough for m to notice it?
