New member from the land down under

Hi guys,

My names Dieter, I'm from new Zealand and an active member on NZHondas.com.
For a few years now I've had a passion for the EF Shuttles, particularly Beagles, although never really took the step to hunt for one. I finally received the all go from the missus haha so its time to get myself a wee beagle for some sweet 2tone 4wheel drive adventures.

Currently I drive a Ek9 Civic and have decided to join Civicwagon.com to expand my knowledge on the -ins and -outs of the Civic Shuttles and enjoy the car enthusiast culture with like minded people.

Less talk, moar pictures

Cheers for having me,

If you need to know anything dont hesitate to PM me. Dont know a lot about 4WD ones but with Shuttle and CR-V knowledge I should be able to make up something semi true ;) If not Im sure someone here will know

I think I looked for 3months to find my Shuttle (I wanted 2wd Injected) Beagles seem to show up on trademe in pairs. Nothing for ages then all of a sudden two or more are there

Hey Dieter :D Just buy my AK and be happy :P

Failing that, there is a 4wd on trademe for $700, tempted to get it myself.

    Will do, cheers Andrew.

There was a Beagle for sale in palmy a couple of months ago for $2500, really should have grabbed that but the time wasn't right.
My main requirements is that its feul injected,s Beagle and blue/grey if not then red/grey but they dont pop up often, and then 4wd goes without saying as all beagles are 4wd (correct?)

My knowledge to shuttles, EF or Ak is very limited but I am keen to learn so expect a lot of questions etc etc.

That Ak makes me tingle, the combo between the woodgrain steering wheel, blanky on the rear seats and Mugen mr5 is just awesome, well done dan!
Saw that grey Ef, its nice and cheap but I have my heart set on a 2tone beagle. As above, really should have snapped that beagle for $2500 in palmy.

Yep all beagle are 4WD but I have seen one with it removed. Not all have the bullbar still, some have various other bars like a boot handle etc
  • 666DAN666DAN Wagonist
I am coming up with a reason to buy the grey one on trademe, so AK has to go....

I tend to like the bullbar on the beagles, do you still have the bullbar of your shuttle?

This is Lakays shuttle when he bought it and it is pretty much what I'm after.

Love the bullbar, fog lights on the rear bumper, little beagle emblem on top of the rear hatch (not sure what its called?). If you see this Lakay, you have a very tidy Beagle, congrats.

I replied to your message before Dan and Andrew but just waiting for MODs to accept it.

I have 2 nudge bars :P Unsure if I'll use them yet. But you're more than welcome to search for parts at my wrecking yard (My garage) once you get a shuttle.
  • Welcome! I happened to snag those bullbars off NZ-DB8R :)

    Cheers guys, appreciate it :)

Flying down to where the car is on sunday then driving 4 hours north and on a 3hour ferry back home, should be interesting!
Did some research on the car today, found out the last owner has had it for 12years. Apparently it has a service history, will believe it when I see the manual with the recorded services. And its last WOF (Warrent of Fitness inspection, which im sure some of you have heard about in NZ-DB8R's build thread) was done privately (not through the dealer) which is quite nice because sometimes dealers have "hookups" at WOF stations.

    More pictures on sunday!

    Different Shuttle ;)

Your beagle looks super tidy for the Ks, I think "parts guru" on NZH was wrecking a beagle as he runs a wrecker in Palmy or New Plymouth. Thats where my bullbar came from, thought it was a while ago now

hahhaa good job finding one. my twin beagle. hahah. i know u will be building this like ur sexy ek9. good luck!
  • lakaylakay Wagonist
same! im the second owner of my beagle. it had all service history from honda and all vtnz wof from first wof til last wof before i got it.

U sure? I thought it was. The other white one also had a beagle front bumper on?

Sorry for getting pretty much the same car as you mate, obviously wasn't on purpose this is just the 1st one that popped up.

Im not to sure to what extend I will take this car, dont think Ill take it near as far I took the Ek.
At this stage my aim is just to tidy it up (service, good clean etc) and learn about the car and other shuttles more, then start doing little modifications and things to personalise.

Like I mentioned before, love the look of your beagle, well done :)

Positive, Chees- owns the low one on bottle caps, they swapped bumpers

Me too, hoping the WOF inspection was done properly and the car is up to NZ safety standards.
Will still make sure the car wasn't false represented in the auction. I haven't paid for it so worst come to worse I walk away with no car, a day wasted, but still some dollars in my pocket.
