Freshened up the bay a bit more last night.
Ordered a bunch of hardware..
Swapped out a lot of the rusty hardware already
Painted an assortment of little things for touch up
Just added a lot of little details to it really...
We installed all the fender washers and under-hood hardware..
Finished the bay up with even more detail. Like dyeing the air box among other things.
Painted the lower portion of the front clip, painted the radiator and other components.
Filled my pockets with fancy lookin' 10mm bolts with fresh lookin' zinc plate from the door panels of newer Accords at our local junk yard, added them to the mix.
Went with black fender washers.
Stole the hood latch cable from the Rat sedan.. Works great now.
This allowed us to finally install the front 'grill' trim. I was soo worried the cable would fail and this trim would get harmed while we try to get the hood open again without a cable. It's clear to see that the Rat's factory cable works perfect compared to the Dorman part.
I'd say that the engine compartment is nearing 98-99% completion after these changes...
These photos are a bit dark because I hate shooting with my camera under a lot of florescent lights sometimes..
The hood latch/ striker that you hooked us up with works great! Thank you again for that my dude!
The cable itself failed. It was a bastards right out of the package though. Just fit like shit and got all jumbled up on the cockpit side of the cable inside the car.
Wondering how it would be easier.. Plus, these wheels were so unbelievably cheap...
The adapters are here, we worked on fitment a bit last night.
Got my fancy new Eastwood fender roller thing out... So fancy.. I didn't even have to smack it with a hammer.. :devilish:
Seriously though, the roller does a pretty clean job. Time consuming though..
Needs a little more camber and I'm actually going to have my local machinist turn these adapters down a tiny bit to gain some clearance.
Some shots while we were messin' around in the shop. I should have taken some better ones (depicting some progress) but didn't, I will soon.
Thanks man!! Yeah, I had them done by Race City Powder Coating in Mooresville, NC.
What a bunch of really nice guys. A pleasure to do business with. I would say they nearly did a mild restoration on them to boot...
These 25 year old Mazda SUV wheels had seen more glorious days prior. Should be cool to shed a second light one them.
Here is a sneak peak! I've got the front fitment perfect. It's right where I want it.
The rear we just slapped a wheel on for the picture. Pay the awkward angle no mind. Addressing the rear fitment tonight probably.
Dropping a few shots off from last night. We finished the car on Saturday night and drove it around all night..
It's slammed pretty good now. This car is lower than my Rat sedan. It rides better too.. I'm jealous.
Bruiser stickers didn't last long on this brand tire.. I'll experiment some more with those.
I tucked the factory exhaust. Took the torch to the header and other piping and put a pair of floor jacks underneath the system as I proceeded to press the exhaust system up against the belly of the car into the tunnel. I then allowed it to cool in place. Replaced some doughnut hangers to hold it up better too.
This is how you do a low profile system for cheap. This is the most quiet Honda around these parts.

Just need to find one of these for me so I can complete my 4G collection.
New hood latch cable broke... Damnit.
Not sure if it was even the correct part to begin with. The housing length seemed too long or something..

i effing love those wheels too, what are they?
The wheels are off a 1991 Mazda Navajo
Tires are on order. Should come together some more soon.
Managed to scoop up some rollers too.
So very pleased. Time to get back to work..
5 acid baths, 2 sand blast sessions, and the coating x4 came to $320.
