Lil' Brother's 91 EX Sedan

It's about that time... my youngest brother is growin' up fast, I think I'll build him a car. He is a member here. Username: Frankz
I'll be going through this entire car so I feel it deserves a thread of its own.
This car is a '91 Civic EX, completely virgin stock.
5 spd.
D16A6
Cruise Control
Power Mirrors
Power Windows
Power Steering
Power Sunroof
10" factory front brakes!!
I'm kind of jealous... This car is rare in my area.

Even came with this flu shot sticker, that I am insisting he leave in there.

He has been off school for winter break, So I put him to work cleaning it up.

    Dirty jambs? Clean it up!

While I got to work on fixing all 4 of the doors, windows and linkage.
The LR door was seized shut, I had to pull the panel from the inside.
The screw in the side of the panel gave me hell.

All 4 doors suffered from this, the handle hanging up.

Hello everyone, Chaife and worked on the car this weekend.
We added a VW lip (courtesy of Josh1vtm) and lowered it with new KYB shocks and EGAY springs.

Took the bumper off to fit the lip.

    25.jpg

Not too low and the lip fits nice.

  • That find would be rare in any area. Not just your own!

Nice score. This is the only car missing my from '91 4th Gen collection. :(

Needs a good set of a Honda OE 15" wheels. ;)

Did any one notice the sunroof? What kind is it and is that a crx oem visor?
  • FrankzFrankz Band Wagon
I'm under the impression that the factory roof visor is the same part number as the Si hatch.

Preciate it Chip, If they had wheels I would show you how it looked on the ground, it's on jacks at the moment so perhaps ill throw a mini rim up on it and take a picture or two.

There is a '91 in the salvage yard that I just got the front knuckles off of. I can go back and see if it has a good sunroof.

The whole body is clean. How did that one rust spot there start:( It's sweet you help your younger brother with his car. I wish I had a older brother to help me build a car. My younger brother is not interested in cars at all lol. He must be pretty stoked about his new sound system as well! Must sound nice. I still have to find a radio for my wagon lol.
  • ChaifeChaife Instagram grand master
LOL well Charb, you met my little sister I also have 2 younger brothers. EACH in a Honda/ Acura. They are each proud of their cars and we had a lot of fun building them. I wouldn't have it any other way. Makes being the family mechanic bearable...

I know right? Thanks, It is a relatively odd rust spot. I mean I've seen this area rust before on MANY EFs. but this just seems to be such an odd 'pattern' (for lack of a better term) that its rusting in, if you could say that...

I still have about 4 months before he is legally ready to drive it. Think I'm gunna pull this motor this Summer and build it.. We'll see... hahaha
  • You need another little brother????
