Wierd. I had a look in my owners manual last night and it doesn't mention towing weights anywhere. Checked the tables in the back several times over. :?
This information is not in my Owner's Manual. The tow hitch in Germany is considered a modification which not all cars have. This information is actually listed in my German Brief.
The German Brief is the actual title book for my car. It has all the information listed such as key numbers (number to order the correct parts with), modifications (all must be listed), tires sizes (stock and modified), suspension anything that was put on the car MUST be listed. My car was purchased with a hitch and those are the numbers that Honda, and the TUV certification has declared was safe for this car. The Brief can not be modified in anyway but by the TUV inspection guys. They must enter any information and this is all given to them through the computer.
This is for Germany. I am sure these numbers can differ from country to country but this is what I have for the German roads.
Yeah, the Germans are pretty strict (who'd have thought?) and it seems we are not.
People tend just to use the weight of the car as a guide over here. I've towed a CRX on a heavyweight trailer with my Opel Astra before and hell, it was probably too much weight but it felt safe enough.
It was long enough for the CRX and a front cut
Certainly for older cars no one is telling you what to do and there is no record on the car's papers to say that you even have a towbar fitted. I think this changed to certify the bar to fit the car around 2001, but still no record on the papers.
I'll go by the more sensible people in your (current) countries.
The pics for the Belgium one look a lot more beefy than the bar in my garage.
A buddy of mine has had many of those astras and the motors seemed a lot stronger than the wagon one. We pulled all kinds of cars with his astra and that piece of crap is still running strong. We pulled my s13 with this astra at 130kmh with no problems (even though we were supposed to be only doing 80). Great cars
It's been a while but had no time to work on the wagon, been helping friend of mine with the renovation of his house.
maybe this weekend I can start working on modifying my spoon style mirrors to fit the wagon.
also planning on making my own carbon fiber hood, hopefully I can start on that soon. but first I need to make a mold of my hood in fiberglass.
I like to paint my wagon to in a couple of months but I'm still not sure what color to do it in; white or black.
I think a off white color would be good, like pearl white.
I haven't seen too many black wagon that look good. I think that black is too plain on the wagon.

havn't seen much black wagons, that's one of the reasons I would like to do it black (I like to be diffrent from all the rest ) + I think it would look really nice with my red rota's GT3's under it.
Maybe I'll try and pictune it with photoshop.
If anyone has some other suggestions, I'm always open to ideas ;-)
Just recieved an e-mail from a friend of mine. He got me a little present, a japanse parking pole. I wanted one for a long time so can't wait to get it. If everything goes well I should have it somewhere next week.
Now I have to decide on what car to put it, my wagon or my showcar ?!
what to do, what to do ...
And with a bit of luck I'll have some yellow foglights to put on the front too.
ah and btw, I'll try post some pics of my black hood tomorrow. It's been really bad weather out the past 2 days so no pics just yet.
i love those rims. the whole car is just soooo smooth and clean. i dont even see the reason for painting it, but to each his own :P hey, put back your honda H logo on the hood

clean and smooth ?! It doesn't show on the pics but the rust on the rear quarters is getting worse and there are alot of dent's and scrathes all over the car. I'll take some close-ups of the bad parts.
I got some suplies today so I can start with removing most of the dents and rust. I'll take lots of pics and will update from time to time ;-)
and I'm not shure if I'm putting back the H in front, I like it clean.
yeah, rust makes me :x :x :x i have quite a bunch of it too
it does looks clean without the H up front, but then you should cover the little holes with some bondo or something so it doesnt look like something just fell off :P

I know, the hood was just a color test remember :P .
now that I'm certain I'm gonna repaint the hood too.
yep, but it will not be sprayed. I'm using a roller. That's one of the advantages when your a decorator/painter, you know how to make it smooth from the first time

Well, I'll go by the Euro weights in that case.

I took of the hood for easy painting, so no shot's of it on the car yet. It's still drying.

you're probably right wagodizzle, I'll just buy an other one for the sedan
if the weather is nice in the next couple of weeks I'll be painting the whole car.
thx man, can't wait to get the whole car done. Then put on my rota's and slam it to the ground 8)
and this is what she should look like in 2 to 4 weeks.

you painting the whole car on your own?

maybe, who knows. A little trip to the US to paint a car, why not
Do you have a cute sister ?
Oké, now it's time fo me to go to bed. It's 11.50 pm overhere now and I have to get up very early tomorrow (05.30 am :? :? :? ) so goodnight HCW
goodnight dude. and good luck.
How old do you think I am ? 15 is too young but 18 is fine by me, my ex was also 18.
thx guys, I'm thinking of fully polishing them when the car is done.
um, i'm guessing you're in your 20's... mid 20's?
the comment you said about Belgian plates being better 10 years ago threw me off
I'm 24, but my B-day is coming up next month.
