Wanda the Wagon.

Hello all, 2-3 years ago I was on craigslist looking for a cheap sedan to buy for my wife to drive and keep the miles off my 03 Si. I seen the ad for wanda and being a honda freak, was blown away. The car was 30 mins away from me. I went to look at her for $800 bucks. When I arrived I complained about the rust and offered $500 cash and told him I would get rid off his lovely yard ornament. My wife said she "would never be seen in that piece." Which was another good addition to the sale.:encouragement:

I have drove this car for 8-9000 miles with no major repair and multiple susp. setups, wheels, etc etc. She now has 259,000 miles on the original trans and engine from what I can tell. I have flushed fluids, changed spark plugs, Changed ballooning radiator hoses, pulled the carpet and steam washed multiple times(ewwww). Installed pretty decent factory front seats, The rear lower seat was too nasty so I recovered it in some denim.

Wanda also received some "leftovers" from other car such as front/rear strut tower bars and rear C-pillar brace. Lights, CD player, etc. After taking her offroading many times and ripping the muffler off. I thought it would be a good idea to lower her down and take care of her.

Current Specs: 90 RT4wd/manual,
front DA eibach lowering springs with 88 Accord front GR2 struts ( perfect height for me)
Rear received 94-01 integra shocks with 94 accord front springs
Blow rear lower arms, rustoleam'ed rear cross member and undercoated rear fenderwells to stop rust.
Still no muffler just a straight pipe exiting the rear bumper.( not loud at all and Barney Fife has never noticed)
Denim rear seats. factory weighted accord 6 speed knob.
walmart uber JDM yellow fog lights, VW lip.
A usable fender and hood with mint corner lights from a junky kid who swapped parts from his car for $100 doller bill, lol ( pass mirror is next!)
recently aquired wide Kosei wheels with new 205/50r15's.
Plans include fixing the rust/body and painting suzuka blue in the spring. also installing my junkyard find armrest and rear speaker pods and keeping it clean!

Nice wagon man, great find with a great price.
  • Today I swapped out a mint blue rear hatch, Pass mirror and Right outer tail light, all in great shape for $60 bucks from a young kid in the area. My hatch was real rough. I also installed LED tail light bulbs and LED lisc. plate bulbs.

Recent pic on Kosei's. Not slammed anymore. I like driving to a pond or field or whatever. Current height is perfect to me. I love the front accord springs in the rear of the car. Next should be a integra rear sway and better brakes, These just SUCK!

    :devilish:

wanda is awesome!!! is that your rear seat covered in Jean??? rad! more pix of that...
  • Thanks! The rear seat is just a glorified cover. Denim was from Wal-mart. I dont know much about interior work but the construction consisted of J-shaped needles and alot of vodka last christmas. The denim held up rear well and whatever sits on the seat certainly stays put.

Looks like Wanda's a fun gal!
  • yup, she takes trash to the dump, moves all kinds of car parts big and small. She also takes me wherever I need. She even drove out of state a few weeks ago to carry back a complete engine.

Looks like she is treating you right!
  • Powder coated a few items today. Changed the earl on my GSR. and found another blue wagon for virtually free. Its a 89 automatic 2wd with a busted windsheild, been sitting for a few years.

Where did you get the bars for the roof rack?
  • The rack came from a random junkyard car, walmart basket
  • Well, little update. With a 1 month old daughter to take care of and bad weather setting in, I traded my midori GSR for a 2001 CRV ex 5speed. Its real clean and I LOVE IT. My wife likes driving it aswell. Really considering front swaybar bushings and a stronger rear swaybar. The crv drives so smooth that I dont even miss my integra. Now, what is a good forum for first gen CRV's??? Im kinda spoiled by the information on this forum. The crv forums Ive browsed so far just suck.
