Sounds like your vtec works just like B series engines! I have only drived with B series and now I have full Z6 in my shuttle and vtec is set to 5k rpm! I can't even feel it starting :D nothing changes, even loud exhaust sound! At the begining I thought that the vtec doesn't work, but when my friend turned it off while we were making street tune, I realised that I have vtec :D without it, high rpm was veeery slow, almoust no acceleration :D
Want to see video, because I can't imagine small Z6 vtec go like B series vtec (bwaaaaa) :D

In the SOHC engines like the Z6, the VTEC system only affects the intake valves, while in the DOHC engines, it affects bothe the intake AND exhaust valves. This is why you don't hear a difference in exhaust tone with the SOHC during VTEC engagement. If you have a loud intake (and a quiet enough exhaust) you can sometimes hear the intake get slightly louder when VTEC engages, but its VERY sublte. I drove a del Sol for several years before I could hear it engage, and nobody else but me could hear it hahaha.

The VTEC crossover point is also very smooth, and you really won't "feel" it unless maybe you've got a SERIOUSLY built motor.

Anyway, this wagon looks beautiful! Do you have any more pictures of the exhaust setup? I'm about to have something built for my RT, and need some ideas on routing / muffler choice. How's the ground clearance with your exhaust setup?

    Nice wagon and previous rides.
Love the watas and mk3's aswell. Equip 03's are heaps nicer then the og's imo

Cheers dude. I'd love if the Equip's were the read deal but unfortunately they're copies, or else I'd be rocking them all the time.

Cheers man and you're right there's no real 'bwwaaaaaaaa' VTEC, it's just constant through the rev range, just feel more powerful and loves to rev now, which isn't good for my wallet!

I'll take some pics as soon as I get it back. I was supposed to get it back this weekend but they're still sorting out some issues with it :( I thought that I'd have more ground clearance as the back box was the lowest part but as it's now 2.5 bore all the way it has essentially made it lower and scrapes even more.
