Glad to see that some people are enjoying the amount of time and searching went into locating some of the stuff. As well as the time and effort put into bringing this thing back to its hay day. But I can't give myself any of the credit for what is going on right now as much as I would like to.. Chaife has done things to this car that I would never imagine trying. :P hahaha.. But really, the little things make so much of a difference when it's all back together. Still can't show him as much gratitude as I would like but given the bullshit that happened before my trip over seas he has been very understanding. So give him a high five next time you see him!
Greetings from Barcelona! Been traveling around for about a month and a half now. Coming back in a week and can't wait to finish up the turd.. Given certain events that happened in the past I am kind if in a crunch to get it finished so I have a car to drive when I get back. Anyways, figured I would share a photo since I haven't shared any on here yet.
Coming right along..
I need to take more pics of other things I have accomplished.
Valve Cover sent to powder coat.
a couple samples came in... We have a match!
Well I chose a few from all over, here you go. Photos are from Paris, France; Berlin, Germany; Malaga, Granada, Seville, Madrid and Barcelona, Spain. In no particular order.. Enjoy!
And if you are planning to go to spain, Granada is amazing. Beautiful city in the mountains, right at Sierra Nevada. It is tradition in Granada to have free tapas with your drink; so everywhere you go you get a free appetizer and sometimes it's a big portion. Some other places in Spain do this but in Granada it's at every restaurant. Well, cheers!
Finalized a lot of stuff...
New A/C o-rings and seals
New Billet fender washers
Fenders on and lined up
A/C equip. all installed
Cooling system finished
Fuel supply
Air Jet figured out
Cowl installed
windshield wiper linkage hooked up in the cowl, and wiper arms installed
Everything in the passenger side foot well is finished and tucked, just need to put the dash back together.
Sooo close to being in one piece again..
Went with the billet fender washers I like soo much.. Black this time.
Here is the wagon as she sits for a few days, brought my hatchback out to the shop and we are in the process of swapping my D16 into an LX sedan.
What started out as a mild wire tuck ended up being pretty much a fully tucked bay, or at least it will be when its complete. Keep in mind its my daily so the objective is to get it up and running as quick as possible, but still keep it clean in the process. Sad to see my hatch in the state its in now but I guess you just live and learn, enough of the sob story ehre are more flicks.
Probably going to start a build thread on this ole girl on here, but maybe as well on the civic sedan forum. Those guys keep it pretty real. Anyways.... enjoy!
Does your wagon have a push button for the rear hatch release? Ive been trying to figure mine out as it doesn't work. Im guessing it is the discontinued solenoid in the hatch door. Props on a CLEAN resto on your wagon!
White86'd, TheGreatBacon's car does have the solenoid actuated rear hatch with the seat mounted button.
I'd say that the wires routing to your rear hatch are the culprit. pop your hatch open and inspect the wiring loom in the top right corner of the seam (probably been pinched a time or two).
I had to rewire mine entirely, on an '85 "push button" wagon's hatch.
Not much on this ole' girl lately, mostly just sedan related stuff going on. Trying to get it on the road so I can stop using my girlfriends car. Hop on over to efcivicsedan.com if you want to see some bad ass sedan builds, I just started one but its nothing in comparison to what some of those dudes have put together. Put this little extension on my shifter today.
What's up guys, been busy dealing with life; and trying to get the sedan put back together. No time for this beauty as sad as that is to say. But the valve cover did get back from powder coat and it is beautiful. I originally used rusto sand which is almost a perfect match to this color, kind of ties in the interior color scheme with the bay. Eventually I would like to paint the RT center caps a similar sand color.
Haven't been doing too much wagon related things lately but expect more updates soon. Chaife and I hooked a battery up to her and tested some lights, put the front bumper and recessed housings back on as well; and I have to say I am very fond of the smoked clear corners.
Apparently birds don't like the wagon, she got shat on..
stop playing games with my heart.... my heart... .
Haha, thanks man. Hopefully this week we will tinker with the wagon more, just been focusing on my daily more. I also just moved into a new place so no time to drive out to work on her. This thread will be updated more than it has been lately though.
Cluster issues all sorted out, turns out there was a break of sorts in the back of the cluster that needed a bit of solder. Which was causing the temp/fuel gauge and a few other things on that line to act funky. Big thanks to Chaife's buddy for coming and shedding some light on our issue. Now that my sedan is pretty much in the clear for all of its issues more will come on this girly..
Thanks man, in the coming months this thing will get some love. I can't wait to show her off, the amount of time and work put into making this car what it is now blows my mind. Still have a lot of little details to work out in the coming months though.
For those of you who visit this thread it has been slow as of late due to life and other projects but the wheels will start turning very soon here.. no pun intended. We are getting the car ready to fire up, chaife sourced out some metric sized fuel and vacuum hoses from a shop locally. Going to put in some more hours tomorrow and see if we can get her started for the first time in well over a year.

And I second you sentiment on the vacume cluster F!
I got the header from a member on red pepper racing. I was relieved to find it after a good month of searching for one.
