Thanks a lot guys, couldn't have gotten this far if it wasn't for chaife. Dude has helped me out, more to come this Sunday. Life is more hectic right now then usual so I haven't been able to get out there as much as I would like to. Sorry for the weak update, whatever I'm not sorry. :P
Thanks man, I like how they sit on the wagon a lot. Nope I just used rusto gloss white and some gloss clear coat. They have a few rough spots that need to be touched up, eventually they will get powder coated.
Glad to be a part of it dude. Pulled some hours on the car last night.
Managed to get the brakes bled, flushed and inspected for leaks.
and actually decided to re-wrap the wiring harness for that fresh look..
one of the brake lines that had to be bent.
Radiator and fan cleaned up, painted and re-assembled. (now thats what I call "beautiful" boys.)
Harness getting attention and tying up more loose ends in the engine bay.
Engine bay has been getting a lot of attention, ran the wires for the lights, fan and horn through the frame rail... Other bits are running through the fender... Chaife I probably missed a few things if you want to add to it.. Everything is slowly getting sorted out, cleaned, painted and put back together.. Big updates very soon!
Picked up some new clutch and brake pedal covers
Put my kenwood satellite pods in here, this was the best spot I could find to mount them that looked good.
4 late nights or so in a row.. Sluggish "attention to detail" work that barely shows now but will shine through in the end..
Stripped the motor and cleaned it
Painted the motor, mounts, AC unit... Charcoal, black, and silver
Devaced this bitch!
I think that I will dub this the "50 shades of gray project". It's perfect, it's got every color from white to grey to silver to pewter to beige to charcoal to black, (on top of burgundy interior) and it also provides plenty of arousal for guys like us....
Oh and mocked up a bunch more of EVERYTHING in the bay.
Converted corner marker wiring to EDM.
Also routed wiring harness through bumper mounts at the ends of the frame rails.
Huge updates to come this week.
wouldnt it have been easier to take apart the engine before cleaning it in that small parts washer? Builds looking great cant wait to see more...... Where did you get the red interior?
of course it would, FullThrottleFreak. But the more I dissect this the motor... the more seals I break, the more that have to be bought and replaced.
Motor is in short block attire now.. no manifolds, nothing. Plus, I'll put anything is this damn parts washers.
The seat skins, rear carpet and floormats I got from a member on here, 1988rt is his username. It was originally a checkered pattern maroon. But I liked the plaid so much better and my other seats were torn up. Looking so sick chaife can't wait to get back and see this baby in person!
Motor is technically ready to go in..
Intake manifold painted, devaced, and installed
Carb cleaned, devaced, and installed
Air cleaner chillen
much better...
Motor is finished
Motor and Trans mated once again
New ALT belt
New A/C belt
New oil filter
Rebuilt starter
The Header didn't fit. there was no way it would clear the AWD output cluster thats on the back of the transmission..
It had to be chopped, rerouted and rewelded.
See how the passenger side collector is aimed directly for the cluster...

Good Job, got a lot done in a short period today.
Before
After
Breaker bars, whatever you want to call them are in...
Trimmed an EF badge to fit the filler piece
Domo dice :P
Wanted to put one of the flaps on, finished up all but one small piece with the side molding:smug:
Chaife bent some new hardlines and installed them today, wiper motor is in and a lot of bits and pieces painted that I forgot to snap pictures of..
Stay tuned!

Here is another really cool shot.
There any parts that you desperately need?
I know of a few Ak shuttles getting wrecked if you need anything.
Thanks man, as of right now not really. Maybe the lower eq console eventually, I will keep that in mind though.

hardlines, softlines, actuator, all mounted to the firewall and wires tucked.
